Wisconsin is usually solid. Penn State has been down late. I hate Iowa. Michigan State has been down since Saban went. Purdue was ok a few years ago. Right now, the Big 10 is awful, but still... 30+ consecutive bowl appearances, the highest winning percentage in college football history, and more conference titles then I think any other team has... You can't put that all on the Big 10 sucking lately.

Michigan State wasn't anything special when Saban was there. He never even won a bowl game with the Spartans.

Hate me for it, but the thing I do like is there is no conference championship game.

There can't be a conference championship game, because what are you going to do with Ohio State and Michigan? You can't put them in the same division, obviously, but if you put them in opposite divisions, you devalue the only real marquee game the Big 10 has to offer, because most years they'd just meet again in the CG. Splitting into divisions and having a CG would just expose the Big 10 for the ridiculously top-heavy conference that it is.

(The best way to do it, of course, is how the Pac-10 does it now. A full round-robin every year.)
