Happy 4th to everyone out there. It's bittersweet for me and my family this year. My grandmothers dachshund,Rambo, who my family took in 2 and a half years ago when she passed away died this morning in his sleep due to a serious skin condition which spread to one of his eyes. They were taking him to the vet tommorow, but the poor little guy was reading this morning. Say a prayer for me and my family as it's hit us pretty hard of course. The picture was of him in his pack and play on vacation this past month(which he hated lol cause he would cry to be around people cause he hated to be alone.) I'm crying as I type this. Sorry for the sad news on such a festive day. Take care everyone out there and have a wonderful and safe day!

Not every dog gets to celebrate her birthday with a pound of ground beef, a pack of hot dogs and cheese on top. But this is Tara Dog's 11th birthday with me and it's become a custom.

She's come a long way since that abused, starved and neglected dog I found 11 years ago yesterday.

Hmmm...what are zoomies? He was about 7 weeks in those pics. He's about 14 weeks now
Zoomies are when cats suddenly erupt and run a hunnert miles an hour around the house, occasionally bouncing off furniture and the walls. You'll know when it happens!

With more than one cat, you get the 4 a.m. Olympics.

Oh hell yeah he does that. We call it running around like a loony. How long does this stage last for a single cat? I'm used to having a couple and they chase each other around

Well, my Late Great cat (we now have the Assistant Cat as our only cat) lived until she was 18. She stopped zooming when she was around, oh, sixteen and a half or so. :p

Lakota and Bell 429

We lost Bell this afternoon. Lymphoma and renal failure and today you could tell she was ready to go. Called at least 20 vets looking for someone who could do at-home and thankfully one was able to fit us in.

When we walked through the shelter, she cowered in the corner and wanted nothing to do with us. She wouldn’t let anyone take her to play and she was being bullied by her litter mates, so she was put all alone in her own cage. She had scars on her head from abuse as a puppy, but we took her as a challenge and gave her more love than she could’ve ever dreamed of. Early on, she was too scared to even go outside to pee and only tolerated being around my wife and I. In time, she blossomed into the best dog with so much personality. Unfortunately, hip dysplasia and crippling arthritis stole her best years and since she was 3 has really struggled to get around much. She stayed right by my wife’s side, keeping her company for the many months I have been away in training at various points. She and my kiddo were thick as thieves and I just hope my little one is old enough to keep some memories of her. We are so sad to see her go, but thankful we were able to have it done in the comfort of her home, spoiling her every minute until the last. Love you, Belly Bell.
