Dogs of VolNation and other pets that are inferior to Dogs

Anyone here have any experience with UTK's veterinary hospital? My dog has some medical issues and my local vet has pretty much said she is at the limits of her diagnostic capabilities and recommended I take the old boy to UT so they can diagnose what's wrong with him. I'm just wondering how they are and if it's worth it?
I don't care to spend the money, I just don't to want to subject him to a bunch of painful tests.

Hate you and your buddy are going through that. It sucks when you don't know what's wrong! Good luck. :good!:

What kind of issues does he have? UT's Vet program is nationally acclaimed and a leader in Veterinary research. They have subspecialists and quite an array of diagnostic equipment. My last mini Schnauzer lived 12 years thanks to a surgical device pioneered by UT.

No personal experiences, but I've heard nothing but good things.

He started out having nose bleeds from one nostril. Several trips to the doc has reduced that to a semi bloody mucous every week or so. They pulled a chipped tooth and did a rhinoscopy where they did a biopsy of his nasal tissue and found nothing wrong, no cancer, no fungal infection, the doc seems baffled.
They've put him on antibiotics and what seems to help is an anti inflammatory.
I don't care to spend money on the old guy, I just don't want to put him through unnecessary procedures.

The most awesome beast known to mankind. Hank, our Great Dane, will be 12 years old in October. He's wonderful with the kids and continues to be an amazing member of our family!

And one more of his favorite place to sleep... our bed, which my wife loves.

Okay, done now. Thanks for indulging me.

Okay, sorry. I just found this one, too. This is one of my favorites... my daughter was imitating him, and it's as though he knew, thought about being offended, but then was like, "Nah, I love you too much to be offended!"

Now, I'm done. I promise.

I've heard nothing but good about Great Danes. Hank looks like a very cool dog. Love the pictures.

Great pictures.

We lost our beautiful, bodacious La Belle Gran Dame today. She made her regular Habit visit to her patients in the nursing home and went out with with her Mommy to get a treat afterwards. She collapsed at the store and was rushed to the vet. She rallied, the vet said she did it for her people. She had serious, untreatable anemia and muscular myopathy. We knew it was coming and she survived much longer than expected after the diagnosis due to the loving care from her people. It was not fair to ask her to stay with us.

This is an earlier picture of her at the nursing home. She had gotten worse, but we were so proud of her loving disposition. She was truly the most beautiful girl, both inside and out.

La Belle Gran Dame in her prime. It didn't seem fair to post only a pic of her when she was older and disabled.

So sorry Small..... dog's truly are man's best friend..... and women's too. Just remember how happy she was and that you spoiled her rotten.

Thanks, Carl. She was special to a lot of people. Had done HABIT for years as well as loving her family.

Hope your daddy is doing well, hadn't seen you in a while to ask. 🙏🙏to you both.
