Dogs of VolNation and other pets that are inferior to Dogs

My Bear isn't doing too well. His back knees are really stiff. He has a lot of trouble getting up. Once he's up he does OK. I've been giving him these Overby Farms Hip Flex chewables with minimal results, so far. (4 weeks) I've heard it can take a while with larger dogs. He weighs about 60 lbs.

Do you guys recommend anything else? Thanks.

The vet.

Yes, well...:)

We recently took him and she (the vet) chalked it up to arthritis in his back knees. Without going through a ton of bloodwork and all that. Just curious if anyone has tried any supplements.

I'm glad I bought my dog a queen sized bed and I have an old comforter on the floor to sleep on.

I’ll raise you one more pup

Good looking pups, Ob.

They must be the guardians of the "Jeans":)

Why yes they are!

You should see my girlfriend try to convince them to get out of the bed so she can lay next me. Lol

I got the one pup (one farthest back in the pic) and couldn’t live with myself not getting her sister too. So I went back that night and picked her up also
(Only had the 2 pups left)

Try a product called body sore.

With a Golden Retriever, you get a dog with a beautiful coat of yellow hair.

You also get breakfast, lunch and dinner with a beautiful coat of yellow hair.

I used this for my retriever (and still do for my American bulldog)

GSDs aren't much better in that regard.

I'm sure, but at least the hair is shorter. After raking the carpet, I can make a pillow.

Another thing with Behr, it was impossible for the girlfriend to take a bath, he thought she needed saving.

You ever considered a Furminator?

Live saving investment I made years ago in regards to brushing my dog.

I miss my Golden’s. I think of them daily. (Duke and Roscoe)
I don’t know if a finer animal exists....

I had a husky/malamute mix that when it was peak undercoat shed time she would practically leave a trail in the air like a comet.

I marked seasons based upon how many vacuum cleaner bags I would use in a week. This is the first spring in over a decade without my lovable Aussie. I miss the old boy and still see tufts of his fur blowing across the floor to this day.

Thanks GV!

I'm placing an order on Chewy right now and will add this to the cart as Bear sheds like nothing else down here in FL.

My rule is I don't get dogs that shed. You have to pass on many awesome dogs, but it makes life a lot easier.

Well she was almost entirely an outside dog. I simply couldn't imagine that wookie indoors. It was still hilarious to brush her (which she loved BTW) but that undercoat just didn't end.

We swept up a ball of german shepherd hair the size of a small animal yesterday. Not even a week's worth.

I know you are speaking the truth... We have three German Shepherds at the farm. All inside dogs. Last month I got tired of changing bags and pulling hair out of the vacuum. I looked my wife in the eye, mumbled, walked out and came back with my shopVac. Works wonders... I even got two of the dogs to let me vacuum them daily...

Later,
