Dominic Cheek

well crap... It would have been fabulous if he came to k town but just give him time and hopefully we can get him to take a visit.

Nice find. I especially like this part:

Those most likely to have their budgets affected by the recent raise in postage are Tennessee and Florida. While Bruce Pearl -- who is the only coach to have a photo of himself on the front the envelopes -- corresponds frequently, the family is still waiting to see him stand out in a crowd at a gym.

Quote from a New York prep site today:

"Connecticut, Kansas, Indiana, Villanova, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Memphis..." Cheek said, digging deep into his memory bank.

Cheek was unsure when he would line up his campus trips.

Still haven't talked to anyone who thinks he's going anywhere other than Villanova. However, the longer the process stratches out, the other teams in pursuit have to gain some hope.

posted this in the lance stephenson thread too. apparently we along with villanova are recruiting cheek the hardest.

"I want to go to a school that has a chance to win the national championship and play for a coach who can get me to the next level," he said.

i think we definitely have both of his criteria.

I know of a coach that just sent a player to the next level as the #1 draft pick. :whistling: Just saying...

Villanova I think, has a very good chance to pick this young man up.

Among the schools he said were involved were Kansas, Memphis, Indiana, Villanova, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall and Oklahoma State. Each of the schools he mentioned have offered a scholarship.

“Kansas, Memphis and Indiana -- I know I want to visit those schools, definitely,” Cheek said.
..

He apparently attended Indiana's elite camp. They've already got one huge commitment out of the group that attended and seem to think they are really in the game for Cheek. Crean has certainly burned up the recruiting trail since he got to Bloomington. Of course, that's out of necessity.

yeah, I'd say a starting job is pretty much guaranteed.

According to St. Anthony's head coach Bob Hurley Cheek's choice today would be Villanova, then Kansas. Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes have been doing every bit of convincing to get him there and word is that he is buying into Villanova being a great fit for him.. good news for vols?.. I wouldnt trust Bruce Pearl..
