Why can't we hear from Doneal? His daddy ain't gonna be living his life from now on.

Yeah and I hate it for this kid because he could really light it up from the 3 line once he gets hot. He should be fine.

I only feel bad for Doneal if his Dad pushed him to this. Asking Cal (or any coach really) to guarantee you X amount of minutes is absurd.

I don't think PT would have been a big issue with him. If he didn't start he would have been the 6th man. The Jeremy Hunt of the team so to speak.

I heard that his dad had been pushing this since the Memphis vs. USC match up. I don't get how sitting out a year helps the guy get any better. ?

If he's not man enough to take control of his career , he will probably never have one. I think Macs a good kid but if you want playing time or want to be a pro bb player then its seems to me that this is where he needs to be . If he cant bump Willie Kemp or get playing time here then he's probably not pro material . JMO

It's no big deal guys. I think Mack will be fine playing for LSU or where ever he goes. Mack is a very good player, I wish him the best. If Cal can get Robert Sallie to sign and take Macks place, Memphis might not miss a beat with this years signing class.

As I said before I think Doneal is probably a good kid , but it seems now that he thinks he's more important than the team which is always detrimental to the team . I wish him well though wherever he goes:good!:

This class could wind up being as strong as the 2005 class, if they pan out of course.

A lot of Memphis fans are saying that Doneal's decision was heavily influenced by his father, so it may not be a case of Doneal thinking himself above the team. But what do I know, I'm not a Tiger fan.

But he will be a good player somewhere else, he just didn't get the PT necessary at Memphis. I don't recall Cal playing him very much in the tournament

Cal didn't turn to the bench much as a whole during the tournament.

I don't think Bruce (or many) coaches would guarantee a player a certain amount of minutes. Demanding that seems odd.

If Doneal's as good as he should be to be a pro he could get playing time and if he's not Cal probably could help him more than most coaches.

In order to become a pro he would have to put the teams best interest in front of his own and try to flourish from within the team , not the other way around . JMO

Sallie, Dozier and AA went 40-0 before Memphis. It will be interesting to see what they can do at Memphis with Reke.

Memphis got payback by stealing Sallie from UK, since UK stole Liggins from them. Although Liggins is much better, IMO.

That might be true, but I think there will be better chemistry with Sallie than with Liggins for some reason. That counts alot.

When you have two of your former teammates on your new team, that's bound to happen. I agree.

Where does this leave Willie Kemp?

Sallie was quoted on the news last night as saying he was going to play PG. Anderson was told by NBA scouts that he may have a future at PG, and Evans is also a PG. I'm a Willie Kemp fan no matter who he plays for, but its obvious that Cal' has little faith in him.

In high school he ran the point with near flawless execution, his first year at Memphis he started and led them to an Elite Eight. He takes a back seat to Rose, and then gets limited minutes. Often coming in as a shooter, which he is not. If he doesn't make a quick three, he gets yanked.

The pot smoking Andre Allen got to throw up as many bricks from 3 as he wanted. Seems like the staff was treating Mack and Kemp both the same. Do you think Kemp pulls a Mack after this Salie signing?

So Cal is just supposed to not recruit anybody that might be better than Kemp? Cal is getting the best players he can, even if it is at PG. It doesn't have anything to do with how much he trusts or distrusts Willie. If Rose had stayed one more year, Cal would have still gone after the same players. It sounds like you are disguntled that Cal played Rose over Kemp. Kemp is a pretty good PG but he is not a top level PG.

I actually liked Andre running the offense better. And for the record, running a Bolivar HS team with "flawless execution" means jack on a top tier college team.

To answer your question, no, I don't think Willie is going anywhere. If he leaves now, he will only have one year of D-1 eligibility left.
