Isn't it about time to change the name of that train wreck of a TV show?

Catspause was so incredibly sure. I love how they got their hopes up and then came crashing down

I don't know what jobs in the NBA are likely to come open this year, but if he wants to go, he ought to think about going now. His stock will never be higher than it is right now.

He'll have 1 more year at Florida, then he'll bolt for the Miami Heat. Pat Riley doesn't want to coach longer and after next year, Donovan will have a job open for him in the NBA, with some talent to work with, in the state of Florida.

Riley has already made it abundantly clear that Erik Spoelstra will be his successor.

if you were pat riley, and Billy Donovan came to you wanting the Heat job, you are going to say "no, i'm giving it to Erik Spoelstra, sorry Billy"? No, I don't think so. If Donovan wants that job next year, its his.

if donovan ever wants to leave florida, the time is now....his stock is never going to be higher...right now a lot of teams in the NBA would take him...staying another year in florida is a big mistake because i really don't think he is going to have much success next year (compared to recent success)....

he wont have a problem recruiting, so next year they may be a little off since they just won back to back, but they wont stay down long

Why go to the NBA? He will make as much money at Florida and doesn't have to put up with the egos that are in the NBA. Hes just like Pitino....great college coach, not a NBA coach and thats not a bad thing. IMO, I wouldn't put up with those a@#holes in the NBA for nothing :salute:

Hasn't shaq said something about not wanting a college coach?

Isn't Shaq a short termer? The guy is long in the tooth now and the Heat would be silly to base their future on what grandpa Shaq says. :)

I believe his contract runs through 2010 and considering he's making like $20 mil a year, i don't think he is going anywhere (nor will they be able to trade him).

Who's to say he even wants to coach in the NBA? Especially after what his mentor Pitino went through.

I have heard Brewer,Noah,Horford(sp) are all projected top 10 NBA picks.

I truthfully don't see Noah being that good unless he develops a 15 footer. I saw him shoot one in the n.c. game and it looked terrible. He's not going to be strong enough to post up the bigs so I'm not sold on him yet. Horford will be a solid player but not an all NBA player. Brewer has a chance to be really good if he can get a little more consistent with his jumper.

1. I doubt Donovan is out panhandling for jobs.
2. Riley is going to go with the guy his players, most notably Wade and Shaq, edorse. That's Spoelstra.

Thank you!

Does anyone really think someone of Riley's stature really cares about what a college coach with two rings wants?
