You guys are harsh on us Vandy fans. Let us have our day in the sun because we rarely have anything to cheer for. UT fans need to put themselves in Vandy fans shoes and realize what this means to us. We had 8 win potential this year but lost against 2 much lesser opponents, and after losing 6 straight we beat UT at Neyland. We deserved to win this one, and we should be able to talk a little trash along with it.

Hats off. Nice win over an unranked, sub-.500 team. Something to be proud of. Enjoy. Maybe your kids will be able return to gloat next time, two-and-a-half decades from now.

All the unlikelies will happen eventually...USC will lose...George Bush will be revealed for the liar he is, and yes, Vanderbilt beats UT...it goes back to the fine old joke...How do you keep a Vanderbilt Commodore from masturbating?....You paint his you-know-what orange, then he'll only beat it once every 20 years...

A Vandy fan talking smack know that is hilarious. I mean really you just beat one of our worst teams in history. Probably worst ever. Have fun while it lasts.

I don't know what is sadder: a Vandy fan talking trash or Tennessee fans trying to minimize the worst loss in the past 10 years.

Worst loss in the past 10 years? Try the past 30. We haven't had a loss this bad since North Texas, IMO.

This is probably the one and only day that Vandy will be able to enjoy any kind of trash talking in football. To beat UT and win more games than Vandy has won since about Y2K, but still not go to a bowl? The only thing Vandy can do for Tennessee is show them where the line forms down in Destin to collect their hefty league check for the efforts of the bowl elgible SEC teams come next Spring. Of course, Vandy keeps someone down there at the Hilton year round to make sure no one beats them to be first in line. Gordon Gee has to get paid!

Vandy knows that this was their golden year to shine. Their key players will be gone and they will have to rebuild yet again, off of a stellar 5 win season. I truly believe that UT fans got to where they took pity for Vandy from year to year. That is no more.

As bad as UT is, and as badly as they played, let's give credit where credit is due, gang: Vandy played their hearts out. They certainly got some help from some highly questionable officiating, but I still believe, on this day (and ONLY this day, mind you, the first day in 23 years), they were the better team. Cutler is a magnificent quarterback. If he didn't play for Vandy, he'd be a legit Heisman Trophy candidate. He's every bit as good as Leinart (no, seriously; look at the supporting cast Leinart has to work with!) and hopefully will get a good look from an NFL team.

That being said: enjoy it while it lasts, Vandy fans. We'll see you twice on the hardwood this year, and I think it may be time for a little payback.
