Gilbert and Beck especially. Would be nice is Luc could pick it up too and if Pav could hit close to his .347 avg last year.

Pitching is starting to get knocked around as well.

You just have to get there and have a few good games. Everyone doesn’t have to be batting .300+ to win. Go back to your hole.

So we lost two games to the #2 team in the nation, that happens to have the two top pitchers in the NCAA according to MLB, and now Tennessee just can't win another game. And by the way Tennessee won game #2 that had the #1 pick as the starting pitcher. He didn't get the loss, but we won the game none the less. This is the first series that the Vols have lost this season.

IMO, hitting was not the issue this series. We made contact, just have to hit it were they're not. The issue Sunday was our pitchers started out behind the count on almost every batter. That is not the norm for the Vols pitching staff. Good pitching can negate good batting. Our pitching lost the game Sunday.

Our batters go deep in the count almost every at bat. This is mentioned by the commentators every game that I have listened to or watched.

There are several tough series yet to come, but this team is battling. It's fun to watch. GBO!

Offense has always been the issue with this team BUT it’s shown a huge ability to Win 1 run games. If that continues this team could make it to Omaha.
This is true. Beck looks so lost the plate right now. Good thing is that there is plenty of time to turn it around.

Hopefully Pavs injury doesn't keep him out long.

Hey guess what, baseball is a weird sport. Elite teams lose midweek games to some truly horrible teams all the time, so I wouldn't get nervous after losing a very close series to arguably the best team in CBB. We likely won't see Vandy until Omaha in the post-season, so I like our chances against anyone else in the region we're put in.

growing pains for the middle of the order , only 15 SEC games under their belts... They will be fine...game of failure... Growing up. They will gain a lot from these 15 games .. JMO

This offense seems to be dependent upon getting walks to score runs. To their credit, they're patient and when the pitcher grants them free passes, they capitalize but when they face good pitchers who will make our Vols earn their way on base, I fear the offense will run into a wall.

Yes, you are a defeatist. I know the question was on another thread you started. I bet you're a blast to hang out with. Grow a set.

Like to see Lipscomb get some run in the lineup at 1B preferably. Booker getting some ABs in OF also wouldn't hurt. We do have a couple of dead spots in the lineup and 3 to 4 guys on the bench who have the potential to outproduce a few others.

And apparently very little understanding of the game
How so? I said if our middle 9f the lineup bats get going then we have a great shot to make Omaha. Sorry that upsets you and some others.

It was incredible what we were able to do this weekend going 1-2 against a superior team at pretty much every position.
