Don't underestimate the value of walk-on Kameel Jackson in the receiving corp

I think he'll contribute, because even tho we got loads of talent we lack In Experience. If nothing else he should be great on special teams.

I hope you are right VOLinNC. I long for the day when we had good special teams. Good, consistent special teams play can go a long way in winning the game.

He's had a very checkered past.

Suspended from OU for unspecified reasons. The situation there didn't look good for him.

Former Oklahoma receiver Kameel Jackson no longer with La.-Monroe football team | News OK

Transferred to LA-Monroe but then left to go to JUCO.

I saw he committed then decommitted to us from JUCO. Don't really know what's up with that.

Regardless, he's a bit of a character question but his talent was very apparent when he was at OU. I hope he gets with Von Pearson and doesn't squander this opportunity to turn himself around.

I think the commit / decommit / recommit from us had to do with grade issues which apparently got resolved. Not really sure what happened at OU or ULM.

The opposite is true in a CBJ offense. He wants his hand full of top play makers on the field and wants them to stay there.

Maybe CBJ kept a hand full of top play makers because he didn't have this kind of depth. As a matter of fact, is there any other program in the country with the kind of depth we have at WR this year?

I hope the qb play improved vastly from last year or it might be all for naught. We need to reel in Gibson badly.

For those that don't know, Kameel is a 4* receiver you won't see in our list of 2014 signees.

Jackson saw significant playing time and a few starts at Oklahoma, that's enough to make him an exciting addition as it is. If my facts are correct, he was dismissed from OU, then transferred to Louisiana-Monroe, then to a JUCO in Texas. He committed to us but didn't have the academics so he was going to stay the JUCO route, but is being allowed to walk on for the 2014 season.

Kameel is 6'0, runs a 4.45 40 (probably faster now), and had offers from TX A&M, Nebraska, Kansas, and of course us and Oklahoma, among others. His freshman year at Oklahoma, he caught 12 passes for 165 yards, including a career-high 3 catches for 45 yards in the Insight Bowl against Iowa.

Add him to the already ridiculous amount of threats that are going to seriously improve the play of Worley, Dobbs, Peterman, Fergus-.... Pig in the wildcat, etc.

Crap, we may need to start 2 QBs and play with 2 balls next year in order to keep all the receivers happy.

Worley was doing okay before he got hurt. Dobbs got hurled straight first into the firing squad and did okay considering the circumstances.

Worley had his best two games of the season against UGA and USC. Then he got hurt against Bama. I think many will be surprised how much better he will play this season with the more talented skill players on offense, and the fact that he has another year in the system. He probably won't be All SEC but good enough to be the starter all season. The biggest problem on offense this season will be at tackle not QB.

OK, I have seen the roster, and Kameel Jackson isn't on it. Is he still coming or not?
