While I do agree that Maryland fans/students have a history of crossing the line in taunting and other asinine behaviors (this most recent example included), I find it quite comical, if not hypocritical, to hear Duke fans on hear whining about such behavior. Does "J.R. Can't Reid", "Hi Eric, YOU SUCK!", or showering a former Maryland player with panties after he'd been accused of rape ring any bells? The "Cameron Crazies" are well known for their douchbaggery.

And I would counter that several thousand students chanting in unison "f*** you (insert name here)" trumps a handful of students conspiring to make a sign in poor taste, or making light of an opposing player's off the court issues.

From a participation standpoint there really is no comparison.

the maryland fans actually like refering themselves as "thug U" and regurally brag of things like "rape squads" on their messageboard. i have no idea why and where it came from though.

Too bad Duke is better than Maryland in "rape squads" as well as basketball.

That's low...If we're talking about what I think we're talking about, one of the "strippers" that accused the lax team of that crime was recently charged w/ attempted murder.

I thought it was funny. Trust me, I was not getting upset or offended. I just thought I would throw in that little bit about the stripper bc it has been in the news around here the last couple weeks.
