Especially after this game the Dooley haters comin from the woodwork..

We all want the same thing, which is a successful UT football team. We just have differing views on who is the capable leader for the team. Right now it's Dooley, but he has proven during his tenure that he cannot recapture the former greatness of the UT football program. Anyone supporting him is simply supporting him because he's the guy who is currently employed by UT to be the coach. It can't be because of anything he's done before or during his tenure here because his record speaks for itself. He has a losing record and there is no indication that given the time it would ever improve here.

I support him cause he's our coach..

Man, I'm with you on supporting our boys but I cannot support a guy that doesn't go for the win, doesn't manage to's, doesn't give the d the heads up the ball is coming into the end zone, doesn't stick the kicker in there in ot when held, doesn't throw the screen in obvious blitz downs, keeps a guy in the game who get burned repeatedly. I could go on and this was just in ONE quarter.

There is a difference between being a supportive fan/alumnus as in my case and watching someone bring my school to its knees while getting paid millions.

Cut him loose Monday and move on, cannot get any worse. It has to happen immediately.

Wow, 444 negavols. I never thought I'd see the day our so called fans sank this low.

Obviously he has what it takes, it's just stupid Internet fans expectations which are the minority.

Exactly what I said, if you read my post. You support him because he's currently employed by the university to fill the role of head coach.

I see that you believe if given more time he would be successful here. Why do you believe that? And do you believe if you were hired to do a job and you were not doing it and also had a track record of not doing it at your previous employer that your boss should let you keep working for him?

So let say theoretically 5 years from now Dooley has still never beaten UGA, South Carolina, Bama, Florida, LSU, etc. That his record is still 4-8 or 5-7 each season. Would you still think Dooley is the guy for the job and that it's blasphemy against the university and players for insinuating we need a coaching change?

Honest questions, I'm not bashing you.

I will say though, if we bring in someone with a proven record of winning at the HC position, the fans and AD will give him a great deal of time to right the ship. Even as bad as the Vols are this year, if Dooley had a winning record at previous HC jobs the argument could be made that he just needs additional time. And I can buy that, because it DOES take a good deal of time to rebuild a program. But he has a proven record of losing and continues to lose here (in record setting fashion). I just don't see how anyone can support him because IMO supporting Dooley and hoping he is retained is just about the same as hoping the Vols continue to lose. It's statistically guaranteed that if Dooley hangs around, we will be a bottom tier SEC team

I see your point, but don't think fans will give anyone time. More importantly....not many coaches have the "rebuild" mindset. That's my biggest concern. Most can take over a solid team and do well (ie Sumlin) and very few can go in and rebuild like UT needs to be rebuilt. Ive said it a bunch and will stick with "I don't think CDD has had the opportunity and time to really focus on being a HC, as he is still in rebuilder mode". Unfortunatly, I think the hot seat talk is hurting him in recruiting. So it's tough times that's for sure.

I like your post except for the part where you blame Dooley. We can't do any better than him. We need to be supportive.

If you were at the game like you stated you would know that is not the case. Did you not hear the "fire Dooley" chant in the stadium?

Btw- don't know if this was asked or confirmed in another thread but was wondering if that Drummer kid is PalardylikeaRockstar????
