Dooley has been fired (unconfirmed)

If everyone on here who claims to have a source in the Athletic Department actually does have a source in the Athletic Department, then (at least) one of the following is true:

 • They're losing money from having way too damn many employees, not just poor ticket sales. At one employee per poster claiming a source in the AD, they have to be one of the most staffed departments in the University.
 • Whoever is in charge of hiring in the Athletic Department has done a crap job of bringing in and/or retaining employees who can keep their mouths shut
 • People claiming an inside source are really suffering from hallucinations caused by binge drinking or severe depression

Well, you gotta admit, there's been a lot of both among us Vol fans this season.

Dude, Gruden has better things to do than coach at UT..........why can't you and so many others realize this?
Rain Man, the guy said in a recorded interview here at UT (coaching camp), that he would coach again IF THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED ITSELF. When asked if College was out of the question, he said no, it was not, but then mentioned he was happy with his current job.

Why can't you realize that he is leaving the prospect open, especially since he said so himself?

Reminds me of that nutjob predicting the end of the world on whatever date it was.... One if these days one of thise whackos is going to be right!! Lets hope the whacKOP is right this time...

Losing to Missouri didn't cost Dools his job - it was the way he did it.

With 40+ seconds to go in the game on Missouri's 40 and you let the clock run out with 2 times outs and 2 first round draft picks at wideout and a guy who can sling it 75 yards in the air...? Are you kidding me? That like escapade cost him his job.

Check my record. I've never posted anything against Dooley. But that sealed it for me. Stick a fork in me - I'm done with UT until he's gone.

I would agree. I have not been a fan of firing Dooley at all. One of the best offenses in the country. Definitely the conference. We are very good. On defense however we suck. Guys don't know where to be or how to stop big plays after 10 games. I agree the loss may not have cost his job. Did not have a clue why he did not try to win the game. The boys played hard and gave it their all. They tried to win for themselves not Dooley. They had no leadership today. The shot of DD slinging his head set to the ground and walking off with that grimace on his face said it all. He was worried bout himself, not his team. I have been a patient supporter, but when you have given up and put your team out there not to lose instead of winning, you have obviously checked out. DD could have saved his job. He did not.
