Dooley in a Different Role

So let me get this straight OP....you want to fire Antone Davis, a True Vol for Life, and replace him with a receiver from Virginia? Can you see the problem with that?

Watching all of you Dooley worshipers wring your hand and cry over his sorry ass getting the boot is quite entertaining.

Again: why would he accept a different role at UT? He would be taking a pay cut from unemployment

Let Dooley ride off into the sunset. He was a good man to contend with all the adversity. I wish him success in his next career stop. Notice I did not say he was a good coach.

I have asked this before. Will the Vol For Life program stay when Dooley is gone? That is the program he brought here.

I just want to see him Roll outta town. I thank him for bringing some stability back. For getting some decent recruits in here. I really wish he had been the guy that could the coaching part done. Please take Sal with you Derek.

I think who ever replaces him has to get some orange pants.:) John Gruden in orange pants.....no way...or anyone else for that matter. At least give him this... he probably pulled off the pants better than anyone else could have.

I think instead of paying all this attention to Jon Gruden and hoping he becomes our next coach I am coming out and starting a petition to hire Gary Patterson from TCU. Look at what he has done at TCU a school with less available than say Tennessee. Look at how his 4-2-5 defenses play against the spread offenses. We tend to lose sight of how championships are won. Tennessee will be good again but we must start with the basics. We need a coach who can run a program from top to bottom. We need a coach that can come in and stand toe to toe with Florida South Carolina Alabama Georgia and LSU. Someone with the TRACK RECORD of beating top teams and beating top offenses! If you look at the direction of the offenses we are playing against more and more attention needs to be paid to DEFENSE and stopping the spread. I want a coach not just a super star on monday night football or a guy that has won a super bowl. I want a coach who has DONE IT....as great of a coach that Jon MAY be he has not done it.

Would your new wife like your exwife living in your house?

Coach Summit is still going to be hanging around the LV program this season but Coach Warwick doesn't seem to mind. And it's not like the new football coach would have a legend hanging around looking over his shoulder. And it's not like Dooley would be AD and a new coach would have to answer to him, although I think CDD would be a good AD.

It's a little different situation, no?
