Dooley In Over His Head, Again

While I do think Dooley will be fine st Missouri, we excelled thanks to Chaney

And who hired Chaney and allowed him to run his O. Took some insight another coach of ours didn't have. And why not dump on Chaney like everyone else gets dumped on?? He's done much better after UT than while at UT.

He probably sees his QB situation like what he had with Bray.

Dooley's problems occurred when Wilcox left for UW.

It's easy to make fun of Dools, and he had a ton of issues, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mizzou's O was decent to good.

Flame away.

their offense wasnt the problem, honestly it can only get worse or stay the same for them.

Not really, but everything else around him has done fine. Offense was never the problem with Dools/Chaney. My only point was that Chaney ran the offense. Don't really understand the comeuppance for Dooley here. I even stated I thought Dooley would be fine at Mizzou.

To the weird point you made, Dooley was HC here. Chaney was his offensive coordinator, and a dang good one. Now Dooley will be an offensive coordinator without Chaney.

Chaney was a Kiffin holdover...not much insight involved.

Chaney was good (and currently is) at designing an offense that puts up big numbers. When it comes to nut cuttin time, he gets passing tunnel vision. Cost us many a winnable game at Tennessee and UGA the NC.

IMO that wasnt Chaney's offense at all. If it was, wouldn't he be running it at UGA currently?

Or perhaps, like a good coach, he adjusted to the personnel he has? When you have Michel and Chubb in your backfield, you definitely balance your attack even if you like to throw it. Currently at UGA, he has plenty of weapons to work with.

Chaney has become very adaptable. He’s excelled running a spread offense before it became the norm and he’s excelled in pro style offenses. He’s an Xs and Os kind of guy. He used what he has to be successful, unlike Butch who constantly tried putting square pegs in round holes.

Chaney and Kiffin did well at getting the most out of a super untalented offense in their one season together

Fans hate Dooley a whole lot, but even with him in over his head as a head coach too soon, had Hart not pushed for Sunseri like he did and let him go after the DC he was rumored to want (Steele) we probably win 10 or 11 games that last year and the east and its not even close. That Offense his last year was as talented at WR/TE/QB and O line as we've seen in the SEC in a long time.

Hell if Sunseri's D just averaged 2-3 points less a game that year we win like 3 more games already, some against ranked teams at that.

Except on the goalline against UCLA with four shots from the one. Or against Ole Miss. Or against Virginia Tech. And that’s with Crompton, Hardesty and Brown.

Don't forget that awesome loss at home against the coaching giants Gene Chizik and Ted Roof. Now prepare to be dissected by Kiffie's fanboys. They don't like facts.

We should have held on to Wilcox. Dooley's last year would have been much, much different.

Even if that had happened, I doubt Dooley would have lasted much longer. He was not too aggressive on the recruiting trail. Remember in state coaches not knowing which coaches were their contacts at Tennessee? And while the media liked his press conference comedy routines, it was grinding on the fan base. Personally, I feel if he doesn't want to practice law, there is a used car lot somewhere on a 2 lane state highway waiting for him to arrive.

Its kinda amazing that VN is back to liking Dooley, or at least talking him up. The whole ex before this ex thing.
