Dooley on job status: "That's not my decision, but I don't know how to answer that."

Dooley himself may be relieved to get relieved after all of the losing and bad luck and losing. He's seems like a man who could be a good coach--he's got qualities and a pedigree--but he was completely unproven as a head guy before getting a top SEC job, and this program is too big for unproven. Simple as that. I respect Hamilton for having the rocks to sack Fulmer, who badly needed to go, but this was a disastrous hire. And then Dooley compounded the disaster by hiring Sal. Oh, my. We need to get somebody who has winning track record has a head coach--period. Don't want another assistant, please.

When the Vandy kicker laid out and hit Patterson tonight, I thought there's the difference in the coaches. The players will sacrifice themselves for Franklin. They believe in him. You won't ever see a UT player do that for Dooley. Dooley doesn't have the fire in him to motivate his players like that.
