First I will say this. I like and respect CDD but like many others I feel he has overstayed his welcome. To say you hope we lose games and then forcast a "turning away" of fans due to our inability to win is by my definition a fairweather fan.Every Monday that he's allowed to give his smart a$$ answers in the pressers is another slap in the face to the UT fans, IMO.
At the end of the day, we have to accept the fact that this administration, from the top down, could care less about what the fan base wants or thinks. In the process, they are going to create a plethora of apathetic fans that will be hard to turn back, regardless of what changes are made in the future.
IMO, the only way to respond to the situation is to 'lose the battle in order to win the war'. Is it gut-wrenching to hope Mizzou, Vandy & others beat your team? Sure, but it's even more gut-wrenching to think about Dools & Co. returning another year and continuing to sink a once proud program.
Unless we as fans stay away from the games in masses and refuse to spend another dime on UT concessions/products, then I'm afraid that's what we're facing.

I respect your opinion and do agree that something must be done. But at no time this past Saturday did I wish we would lose. You may be right...maybe it is a 'fairweather' attitude. However, I would argue that 'fairweather' applies to those so-called fans who jump ship everytime their supposed team hits a losing streak or goes through a slump. This situation is different. Our program is being demolished from the inside-out by an apparently in-ept administration. Just saying 'I support my team regardless' in this situation is what I would term 'sheepish', not 'fairweather.' JMO, TIFWIW.
You people must just troll Twitter for his quotes. If you watched it, he was talking about the criticism towards Sunseri. Someone asked if they thought it was unfair that he was getting so much flack during only his first year, and Dooley said that it comes with the territory of having the job. It doesn't matter about whether it is fair or not. Then he said the "That's just the way it is" quote--Not about the sucky defense but about Sal receiving criticism.
Ha!!! Love it!!! Classic Dooley!!!
He grew up hearing this type of stuff all his life. Probably hearing the same old rehashed b*tching he did when he was a kid. He gets it and I think Hart gets it too that's why if he can win out Hart will be happy that he can give him one more yr. if he doesn't then it just is what it is. Hart and Dooley have a lot on common from thier upbringings, so I'm sure they discuss things while being in the same page. Not having to explain it to each other. They just both get it.
You may not like him for his coaching but the guy is pretty freaking funny.

Dooley said defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri might move upstairs to coach from the press box as part of changes in the Vols game-day routine.
As for criticism of Sunseri and the defense, Dooley said that comes with the territory.
"Like Bruce Hornsby and the Range, that's just the way it is, he said.
