So you are still on the Dooley train uh. Can't admit he is the worst coach in the history of our program. Well bless your heart. Here is a quarter for Sunday school class this morning. Now go take your underoos off and put your big boy pants on.

Not sure if being claivoyant is why I had Dooley and crew pegged after game 1 in year 1 (or year 0 ) . The obvious tehnical errors in philosophy , design , playcalling were a dead give away to someone with workable football knowledge. I have ranted about it since his debut. Example : the sprint draw running style they tried up until this season. They tried to draw everything and pass block while they did it. It was not going to work . They started run blocking this year ..and presto ..they could run the ball. Most people want to talk about the RB or OL coach . It has nothing to do with that ...it was a philosphy change. That is just one example but if you know anything about the technical side of FB you would know that there are numerous examples of poor coaching dating back to year one.

Don't disagree, but I was one of those who also saw that there wasn't even a good HS football team when he got here. He has had nothing to play with up to this year. This year, he failed. Plain and simple. So if you were one of those that looked at the roster and said, "hey, we can win the SEC with this group of guys", then yes, you were either clairvoyant or had none of that knowledge that you are touting.

And no, by the numbers he isn't, there were two worse. So bless your heart. Why don't you and CP add your grades together and get a C?

There will be some. There are still some that think getting rid of CPF was a mistake. The only mistake made there was waiting too long to do it. I hope the admin doesn't make the same mistake with Dooley. That dude seems like a nice guy, but is garbage as a coach. No lie. His teams self destruct. They don't get better, they get worse. He is the antithesis of Saban. Didn't he learn ANYTHING watching that guy work????

Way to sneak in a jab at Fulmer. We don't need any Alabama Forest Gump trolls on this site continuing to bash a LEGEND Hall of Fame coach because you *think* you know something about football. Because you don't.

I bet you think it was passed the time for Chavis to go too. Really? Do you like the defense we have now?

Firing Fulmer WAS the ONLY MISTAKE.

Go back to an Alabama site you backpack meth-head Forest Gump TROLL!

He should have benched Bray before the game started. Worley is a better leader and we would have won the game with Worley playing the entire game.

Guess I might be hungover, but I thought I saw some glimpses of potential in Worley's performance, considering the circumstances.

I supported him until the 3rd of last night...i'm thankful he took the job when no one else would and cleaned up the program and brought the VFL program into the mix as well as some more great things...but it's time to take UT football in a new direction with a new coach

i still want someone to explain to me how dooley has laid a solid foundation for the future and a future coach.

i want to hear the logic behind that.

Please understand that this program had issues that no one knew about and still don't. He was working on more than just on the field things. It isn't hard to understand. Happens in the business world daily. This is like any other business. People may not think he recruited well but he is leaving the next coach 3 solid options at QB that have been on campus. This is something that can not be said for when he arrived. This was just one issue of MANY he had to deal with.

Best of luck to Coach Dooley and his family. He gave his all for UT and I respect him for that. Whereever he ends up I'll be hoping he succeeds.

The basic problem in our society is that people don't see gray anymore. If someone makes a mistake it's like they never did anything right. Does he have to go: yes. Did he turn Dallas Thomas and Justin Hunter into first round draft picks: yes. Did he have three top 15 recruiting classes at a time when the program was losing: yes.

Because people like to believe everything they read on the internet, they like to think that Strong, Sumlin, and others really wanted the job three years ago and we picked Dooley over that. Heck, I remember the posts that had Muschamp signed and on a plane to Knoxville. The reality is that he did inherit a bad situation. He improve the roster, but failed to translate that into wins.

The people who are driving this thread are the same folks who will reserve "Fire_____.com" the minute the next coach is fired. They thrive on failure and that is one of the reasons they fail. It's so much easier to tear something down that build it up.

The funny part is all the names we were called because anyone who could see the forest instead of the trees were Negavols, Idiots, told to pull for Bama ect ect.............they should man up and start the "Apologize to the Negavols" thread. Lol

Awwww someone needs to be validated :cray: Yes y'all r still negavols. The negativity that some of y'all have seriously reeks of a need for a hug from a parent. It's really sad. The negativity built up and it hurt the program and the players y'all say y'all care about.

I don't want to hear the crap about how message boards don't effect anything either cause that's stupid, naive, foolish, etc.

Dead on!!! :good!: Perfectly said.

(to bad the negas will bash you no matter what cause they don't see anything but negativity. It's in their lack of positive upbringing).

Judging from the sunshine pumpers here, General Neyland would be classified NegaVol.

Neyland had standards for this program he expected his coaches to meet.

Those classified as "negative" fans have the same expectations.

At some point, those who were in reality DFL need to understand the basic concept that failure begins and ends with the head coach. If fans are negative, then it is because of the product on display and a belief that it should be better.

We were told the Kentucky defeat was mere accident. We were told this team wouldn't be kicked around anymore. We were told our defensive personnel were more than cut out to operate in a 3-4.

Those were the expectations set not by negative fans but rather by Dooley, some of his staff, and his ardent defenders in UTAD and in public forums.

Kentucky 2011 wasn't an anomaly; it was prologue for the book written by the 2012 team.

I will go out and let everyone go nuts on me but I am a Dooley supporter. Yes the wins and loss record is not what everyone wants but when is the last time we were in the running for the Fulmer Cup? When is the last time a football player was involved in a robbery or drug bust? Derek Dooley gave his all for Tennessee and our idiot fans have zero appreciation for it! I hope Christ himself is our next coach because if not this fan base will eat him alive! I am not saying that Derek could have won National Championships however we never let him find out! Watching the Dooley show and you can see a man that is truely beat. Fans quit on him, players quit on him he never quit! Coaching till the end, right wrong or indifferent! Thanks coach for everything you did for our program and I hope success will find you soon!

I am a UT supporter. Dooley was given a shot and failed.
Please all 8 of you don't wait till Wednesday to get on here and talk about the mess he inherited.
He inherited an absolute mess. What does that reality have to do with anything? Why must you engage in some sort of denial? Is it just so you can feel justified in having contempt for someone who tried their best but simply wasn't up to the task?
He has sunk the Vol football program to a all time low. Recruiting is horrible,
Recruiting has been bad since the season went south. The base of talent that the next guy gets will be MILES ahead of what Dooley inherited with or without Bray/Hunter/CP. Again, why do you feel compelled to deny reality to preserve hate?
coaching is horrible
Coaching has been bad and he made some bad choices concerning the D. Now he's been fired.
the guy has done more damage to Tennessee's name than he has good .
No he hasn't. He couldn't win football games. He wasn't dirty like Kiffin. He didn't drag the program down for the sake of his own ego like Fulmer.

He's a good guy who inherited a mess that he was ultimately unable to fix. He improved that mess so that hopefully the next guy can succeed.

And if you really think that he has not improved the program then keep your big mouth shut when the next guy fails to win immediately. Because if Dooley has damaged UT rather than improving it... then next guy needs 10 years, not 3, to fix it.

I thought the roster was in rough shape too . Never though they would win the SEC ...but thought they could be more competative than they were. The general coaching errors cost them in virtually contest. Example from last season : Freshman QB / Simms , yet all the vertical routes . Why not work the short range. Then there was the formation tip offs which were corrected somewhat this season ...shotgun pass , under center run. The staff did little to help an undertalented team .
