Dooley to Ole Miss

Yep...and it's not as if Kippy was some "no name, chopped liver" coach. UT could have done much worse, and did.

Hindsight is 20/20. I would bet if you went back and looked at the threads during that time, you would find the majority didn't think that would have been "sexy" enough.

With Chucky out there...hell no, it wasn't sexy enough.

You know, I'm not the biggest Dooley fan out there, but even I'll say he's not a dimwit by any means. And I don't think he's stupid enough to rush into a dumpster fire carrying a cup of water.

This is obviously dependent on contract terms. Ole Miss offers him $5 million a year guaranteed for five years? He might bite. Same thing goes for Rocky Long and Skip Holtz. Until this NCAA mess is cleared up with Ole Miss, any D1 FBS head coach worth their salt isn't going there. That program is plutonium right now.

Of course, I thought the same thing about Baylor and they lured a coach in...

They lucked out that one of the hot coaches out there was trying to escape Temple.

Being a private school, they don't have to announce salary terms. You know this of course. But if the estimated numbers are correct ($3.25 mil a year) that's a huge jump from his $1 mill a year at Temple.

I'm not saying Ole Miss can't wave the duffle bag of cash under someone's nose and get a somewhat decent coach. But regardless of the money, I'd be real reluctant even with $4 mil plus a year if I thought the NCAA hammer was about to fall. Baylor was all internal and likely won't have any NCAA ramifications. Everyone knows Ole Miss is about to be put on a spit and roasted.

Think they will be roasted as badly as UNC?:)

Think about it for a minute. There will be less pressure there than it was here. He would have alot of room and leeway. Then, I'm sure he learned from his experience here. He might do good there, or at least their kind of good.

I would feel bad for Ole Miss like a Raider fan felt bad for us after hiring Kiffen.

Not really, if Ole Miss does that(they won't), it's their own fault.

even Ole Miss isnt that stupid

This.

Ole Miss is going to be a very unattractive job after all this, but they're still not quite that desperate. More likely they go after Les Miles as no 'up-and-comer' is going to destroy their career taking one of the tougher SEC jobs with the possibility of sanctions hanging over their head.

Seriously they'd be better off shutting down the football program for a year than hiring Dooley. Hell I'm sure Gary Dinardo's available.

If they do hire him it will be for one reason only and that's to clean up the program. For all his faults that's one thing he did right here

wut?

Players on police blotters ... the starting QB throwing beer bottles at cars during the off-season ... players throwing the Kentucky game so they could avoid following him to a bowl ... APR almost below the floor ... former players shunned ... boosters unhappy ... high school coaches disgusted ..

...exactly what are you including in him "cleaning up"?

Oh, hold on. He (or someone in the AD's office) did put an end to Kiffin's "hostess" debacle. I guess he's got that going for him.

Well, he did teach them how to "clean up" in the shower. :)

What if Ole Miss hires Dooley and he beats Butch the next time UT plays Ole Miss? Man....that would be our luck....he does have Butch's number by the way....sadly, sadly enough....
