I thought we might take more, given the attrition of linemen and our need. It just seems like we need to take more linemen and less WRs to me. Given his statement, we should be okay on linemen. With Posey already committed, that leaves 4 spots at most, and we are in the thick of it with a bunch of kids. We could even fill with just Tennessee kids:

Crowder
Richardson
Clear (although he probably is going to have to be recruited as a TE)
Kerbyson

I wouldn't include Clear he is going to be recruited at a TE but he may end up moving to the OL later on. I bet we end up taking 6 OL though.

This. Clear is going to come in as a TE and eventually move to OT. I see us taking Richardson, DeBell, Kerbyson, Posey, and Crowder. A VERY strong OL class.

He is probably talking about true OL. If we can get 5 OL and about 2 or 3 or more TE, we should be solid.

I definitely dig that list of recruits for the OL but I think we will take one more by NSD.

I like Clear as a tight end. He has the size to be effective in the multiple tight end set with his size and athleticism. These bigger TE's wil scare some DB's and LB's when their pancaking them all game.

Maybe he said this trying to get the kid to commit ?

{EDIT} Never mind, I do not even see that we have offered. What are they waiting for ?

I like 5 and those five wind up being starters together in a few years. I can dream...

I'd like to see UT take more than 5, but that's JMO. It's also debatable whether this was recruiting talk or upfront honesty.

Dantzler is UGA

And I don't think 5 is too few.

Think about it that would give us 10 lineman that are true freshman, RS Freshman or True Sophmores going into the 2011 season...I think that is plenty young lineman.

I agree, take too many and you end up being way too heavy on young linemen, in three or four years you are likely to be right back in the same position we are now, thin at OL with no real experience.
