Dooley told Hutson we are taking 4 or 5 linemen

I agree, take too many and you end up being way too heavy on young linemen, in three or four years you are likely to be right back in the same position we are now, thin at OL with no real experience.

agreed...and we'd also be light at whatever positions that we under-sign in order to sign what would amount to more backup OL.

We'd probably have around 20 OL on scholly after 5-6 more next year (guessing). At some point, you have to balance things out a bit. I'd think an average of 3-4 would be about right once we've stabilized the program/position.

add cyrus hobbi and the kid from rhode island whose name escapes me and we'll be set on the o line. d line list should look the same and i'll look for a national championship 3 years from now, thanks.

Think you take 4 or 5 this year and 3 to 4 every year from now on and that should give you 14 - 18 OL on the team at all times on scholarship. Take to many this year and in 4 years all the sudden we could lose all our starters at once.

Agree. Schofield, Revis and Hood will be RS JRs. in two years. Fulton, James, Pair, Stone and Gooch will be JRs. or RS Sophs. Add another 5 OL in the 2011 class, and UT should have a solid and experienced line in 2012. This is not taking into consideration the potential of converted TEs.

UT can be more selective with 3 - 4 OL in the 2012 class and those that follow while maintaining a good balance from year to year.

5 is the number. If we are hit with a major rash of injuries then we'll have a tight end or two to throw into the mix until we get healthy again. GBO
