I'm thinking that if CDD can win most of us over in a 30 min pc after all we've been through, what can he do in two weeks on the recruiting trail. Just looking for opinions.:good!:

your optimistic.

Not that I have a problem with that. You may want to bring it down a bit so you are not disapointed.

Its not so much Dooley as much as there is only 2 weeks left :(

i'm sold. i like this guy and i'm sure that if i were a prospect i would want to play for someone like him. (or at least what he portrays himself to be). honesty and integrity go a long way with me.

Displaced I never said we would have a #1 class this year, just meant that I think he's capable of keeping it intact.

I know like everyone else we are worried about who we will lose, but maybe there are some solid recruits that really liked Dooley, but just couldn't play at La Tech, now he can go big to those players with that beautiful orange T on his chest and ask what's up now, you know what I mean?

The class will be fine. It will lose some key guys, but not all. It will pick up a few surprises, bot nothing earth shattering.

The problem we are going to have is the coach, and I use that term lightly, before was an ace recruiter/used car salesman... we had come to expect major shocks and major upsets...

That won't happen here at least not for a while. It will be slow and methodical and evaluation might not be as good, but it will get done.

Dooley needs to keep up with Saban and Meyer or he will be looking for work in a few years.

I can tell you that the guys coming this weekend are going to get the royal treatment. One of the hostesses that is going to be "assigned" to Ambles was at the hockey game dressed to kill. She said she was in charge of showing Ambles around. The scenery certainly won't be bad for them that's for sure. Reel em in!

Guys, don't get your hopes up about this years class. Although I hope we retain all the coaches till at least NSD, it takes time to develop relationships.

I think we should be very pleased if we break the top 20. JMO

The good news is a lot of the recruits as well as parents probably watched the press conference on ESPNEWS and hopefully they heard parents say "Now that's a nice and respectful man." and "We need to hear what he has to say when comes to visit."

Another nice bonus was Bud Foster realizing that this clip will be on ESPN 'til noon tomorrow, at least.

what does that mean vol66 ?

After round the clock updates about Kiffin for two days, we now have the new face on TV for the next 12-24 hrs, and it's a good face with no baggage attached. They played it like it was a late hire, they coulda waited until before the basketball game tomorrow to announce, they got it out there instead, good move.

Definitely the opposite effect that Kiffin & O had. Running around peoples' living rooms yelling, cussing up a storm, scaring old ladies half to death.

I agree... we had gotten spoiled with all the big names this year and the expectations and there just isn't enough time left... I think position need now becomes the biggest emphasis for this class... OL and DL

If this staff can somehow get 5 quality OL to come in I will call it a success...regardless of where we end up with the rivals rankings...

C.Green should become the #1 priority hands down... get fulton back and add 1 more and I would be pumped...although a lot of that depends on whether we hang on to Cregg...

If we don't stock the cupboard with OL... Dooley will be in a tough situation in the next couple of years...

I agree mostly. If you are OL you will play, this doesn't end because we lost the 3 dumbegos...and we have an all freshman SEC Olineman to prove it!

This is from another thread I just started...

According to tigerrag, covering LSU's recruiting, here's who Dooley helped recruit from 2000-2003:

2000- Chad Lavalais, Stephen Peterman and Corey Webster (future All-Americans in what was considered to be a makeshift class)
2001- Joseph Addai, Bennie Brazell, Michael Clayton, Travis Daniels, Marquise Hill, Rudy Niswanger, Marcus Spears, Andrew Whitworth, Ben Wilkerson (considered the foundation of the '03 NC team)
2002- Skyler Green and Kyle Williams (All-Americans)
2003- Matt Flynn, JaMarcus Russell, Dwayne Bowe, Craig Davis, and LaRon Landry (speaks for itself)

Here's the link:
TigerRag - 30 Years of LSU Football Recruiting

I'm no longer all that concerned.
