Here are some of Dooley's recruiting numbers at Tech. They mainly focus on recruiting 3 star players and fill the roster with 2 star players.

Here are the number of 3 star players recruited at La Tech per rivals while Dooley was there:

2007: 6 x 3 star players
2008: 3 x 3 star players
2009: 9 x 3 star players
2010 9 x 3 star players

Louisiana Tech Commit List for 2010

The 4 previous seasons at La Tech before his arrival:

2003 5 x 3 star players
2004 1 x 3 star player
2005 1 x 3 star player
2006 3 x 3 star players

I do come away with the impression he did pretty well at La Tech recruiting based on previous years and they were getting better players and were improving.

I know he recruited well with Saban at LSU but I was curious how he did on his own.

This is actually one of the few things that makes me feel better about him..... this and the interview I heard Jimmy Hymans do with momma Dooley yesterday

If 3 stars at LaTech = 5 stars at Tennessee, need I say how awesome that would be? Needless to say it's not gonna be a direct translation but this is definitely promising! =)

Um no. We will not be signing 9 five star guys. He has shown though that he is a pretty good recruiter for that level so hopefully it can somewhat translate.

Which is why I said "Needless to say it's not gonna be a direct translation"

Read my whole post before you correct me please.

No comparision, or stupid comparison!!!! Curious how he did on his own recruiting to LA TECH, not UT!!! He will do fine, but with only 3 weeks to assemble a staff and recruit, all the while the USC Azzclown is recruiting against him for our top commits, not expecting much out of this class. Not CDD's fault and not Hammy's fault. In the end, no matter how far this sets us back, it was unavoidable, but worth it in the end. GO VOLS AND CDD!!!!

I think he will be fine....He has all the resources he needs here to recruit well....I'm sold on him as a person, he seems to be a very nice guy...I'm just taking the wait and see attitude until he puts something on the field, as I'm sure we all are....You can't recruit in Louisiana unless you're at LSU, that's just how it is down there....I think we will be fine, we just have to be patient...If Kiffin got 3 years or so, so should Dooley

I think those are great numbers considering where he was at....What big time athlete really wants to go to La. Tech and play?

I would say the guy is really working hard for us.Tough job to fill coaching spots and recruiting at the same time.

Dooley will be a great recruiter at Tennessee! How many 4 and 5* recruits do you know who would go to LA. Tech for any reason?
