Monte's not. Lane is. I was a tag along on a postgame plane back from a road trip game. Monte talked the whole time and was enjoyable to speak to. Lane acted like a dick to the owner of the plane on a couple of occasions. And we had won.
To be honest, I think that dude hated Tennessee compared to SoCal. He was probably pissed that he had to go back to Ktown and hear his wife complain about it.

Most people hate Kiffin for the aftermath of what he left behind, and it doesn't matter if any of us on VN ever had a single interaction with him. He may be a nice guy for all I know, but I will always loathe him for setting the program back a good 5 years minimum for the way he left.

He didn't set the program back 5 years. He's a prick of the highest order and leaving when he did hurt us in a coaching search because our idiot AD didn't know how to handle it. But he didn't set us back 5 years.

It is 3 hours from Knox to Lex on the ground. Why would they fly?

The team does fly to KY games. Don't know if he flew with them. But the team does fly.

And for Beef, the team rode the bus with assts coaches. Kiffin and his dad were shuttled to a private plane to go home, rather than a 3-4 hour bus trip.

It was a longer flight. Probably 45 minutes. Plus time waiting to take off.
Not a big deal. He just didn't really speak except to say grab me a beer and didn't thank the owner when we landed. That stuck with me. I even posted about it a couple years ago. Monte talked nonstop and drank a few. He was cool as it gets. You just listen and laugh.
