Draft analyst on Hooker

I like Hendon as a college QB but I don't know if he has the talent to be a high level starter in the NFL. He can definitely be a starter but I'm not sure about being a star.

Joe Milton on the other hand has Josh Allen level talent. I could see him taking the NFL by storm if he continues to develop under Huepel.

You got the Josh Allen call right, so if you are saying this about Milton, he might be someone to watch next year.

Yup, I think Joe will be a better Pro than College QB.

If I was an NFL team that had to have a QB, then gun to my head I take Young 1st round. I believe he gives you a three to four year window before his play and injury bug gets him sidelined permanently. If I had a starting QB and wanted a B1 for a team like GB I would take Hendon in the late 1st or early Second.

I think Hooker could have a very solid NFL career.

True, but I see him more having one of those career backup kind of roles Basically having a longer Dobbs-ish career.

He's a good guy who is not going to cause you any off-field headaches. He has legs when he wants to use them so would do well as on a scout team perhaps.

Not the most exciting life in the world, but you can retire at 35 set for life and have all your mental faculties intact to do whatever you wanna do for the rest of your life. A smart man's NFL career if you will.

In contrast to the NFL analyst cited here, I would rate Hooker’s decision to transfer away from Fuentes as an example of good judgment, not as something to question.

I agree and I think maybe even the analyst does but what he’s saying is GMs still seem to ding players for switching teams, even if they are doing so less than now.

When you hear Watson Brown (former head coach) talk about the intelligence and football IQ of the Hook, one begins to really get excited for HH's pro possibilities. Brown claims that Hooker only uses around 6 plays per game that are straight calls from AG/JH and that the entire rest of the plays are pre and post snap adjustments/options for him to read. He is just performing at an astonishing level. I do think he will be punished in the draft to some degree as many will claim that it is the Heupel system that is to credit for the ridiculous numbers this offense puts up and not HH getting the possible credit he deserves. I think he may slip to a late 1st and perhaps be a steal for someone.

Just like Brad Kaaya and Antonio Callaway were supposed to be big time NFL talents. And let’s not forget that Dobbs was supposed to win multiple Super Bowls and would one day be considered the GOAT. The vast majority of your NFL predictions are garbage.

There is no accurate way to predict who will be successful in the NFL. Look at Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow and Jamarcus Russell. Even Tee Martin. Most thought all of those guys would be stars in the NFL. Hooker has all the tools to be an NFL QB.

Don't think you are correct.

I am curious but why don’t you think Hooker can make it as a starter in the NFL?

Yeah, bad QB picks get more people fired than any other position in football, imho. People get busts who won the Heisman and a 6th rounder who ends up winning more Super Bowls than anyone. The busts are a lot more frequent. I think HH has all the tools for a long career for sure. I also think he will have to work really hard to prove that, but work ethic doesn’t seem to be a problem for him.

There’s many factors to talent other than arm strength. I’m not sure what Hendon could do better to impress these scouts but his arm seems plenty strong enough. His greatest gift is between his ears tho. Probably the most cerebral QB we’ve had since Peyton.

In no universe will Milton ever be better than Hendon Hooker.

Did I say he couldn't?

It was just my thoughts. I wasn't trying to insult HH in any way or anything, I thought I was kinda complimenting him.

Trust me, this is one of those situations where I hope I'm wrong. Would love to see another Vol QB starting in the NFL. Been a drought for us since PM retired.
