No doubt its a form of gambling -- the Feds will take them down and I wouldnt be surprised if the Mob is involved with it.

They may have to come up with a new law or change the interpretation of the current. DFS sports don't fall under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.

So, the big question here is: Does Daily Fantasy Sports count as Internet Gambling? The short answer is “No.” The UIGEA specifically states that:
(ix)
[The UIGEA does not include] participation in any fantasy or simulation sports game or educational game or contest in which (if the game or contest involves a team or teams) no fantasy or simulation sports team is based on the current membership of an actual team that is a member of an amateur or professional sports organization (as those terms are defined in section 3701 of title 28) and that meets the following conditions:
(I) All prizes and awards offered to winning participants are established and made known to the participants in advance of the game or contest and their value is not determined by the number of participants or the amount of any fees paid by those participants.
(II) All winning outcomes reflect the relative knowledge and skill of the participants and are determined predominantly by accumulated statistical results of the performance of individuals (athletes in the case of sports events) in multiple real-world sporting or other events.
(III) No winning outcome is based

aa) on the score, pointspread, or any performance or performances of any single real world team or any combination of such teams; or
(bb) solely on any single performance of an individual athlete in any single real-world sporting or other event. 3

I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago I what goes on -- its alot better hidden these days

Yep. Let's skim off of something that is surely going to draw attention to it's legality/lack thereof, and which advertises itself constantly, making it all the more juicy a target.

You're a regular Vito Genovese.

Probably wise to cash out your accounts before the (impending) seizure if it's very critical to you.

If it's like the poker shutdowns you'll be repaid with interest once **** settles down after the investigation and following settlement

I played small stakes on PokerStars back when it happened. I've been pissed ever since and DFS has enraged me. Make them both legal in the U.S.

Are you saying they have to pay you back what you put in/lost?

Of course Nevada did this. Gambling is legal there, and the state is not making money off the current DFS model.

Rough Fanduel weekend for me. I had 6 lineups with Antonio Gates in a Thursday through Monday contest. Unlike DK, which allows you to drop a player until his game starts, FD locks the lineup when the first game starts. Didn't hear about the possibility of Gates not playing until after the lock. I will still make a few bucks on the weekend assuming Palmer/Fitz have decent games tonight, but really could have had a really nice weekend had I not zeroed out the TE position in half of my contests. The worst part is I only jumped in the Thursday slate for Seattle's D and kicker.
