No you don't......................................................trust me you don'tView attachment 512418
So we should cower in the corner and cry if we play them? Either we can hang with them and deserve to be in the playoff, or we don't have a reason to have a conversation about whether we deserve to be one of the four or not.

Then we have no business being in the playoff.

This is a GREAT point!! I've said all along that our team has been phenomenal this year and I'm very happy with what they've done, but our defense is nowhere near a NC caliber defense. That's not a knock, that's just the truth. They are playing as well as they can, and that's saying something. I'm very proud of them. However... if we don't make the playoffs, oh well. A Sugar Bowl would be UNREAL for this team. The CFP isn't the be all-end all.

Michigan is probably going to beat Ohio state based on how they have performed the last few weeks. Ohio state is ripe for the picking

I don't. I think Ohio State is the best team in the country and they're being weirdly underrated this year.

I'd rather re-match Georgia than play Ohio State right now.

I would love for us to play Oregon or Michigan.
UGA would run OSU out of the stadium. OSU almost lost to Northwestern.

We can hang with any team in the country if we play well. The meaning by my earlier post was to not be afraid. If we ultimately make the CFP, then we are going to face good teams that can score.

How can they consider Oregon getting back in? Georgia stomped them into the ground!

Sadly we are what we are. Our resume cannot improve by the 2 pedestrian teams 1 abysmal teams we finish with. Their resume if they win out gives them the chance to get wins against above average Washington and Utah teams and they inherit the winner of UCLA/USC in the Pac12 title game. Like it or not they will have a good resume too. Is it better than ours probably not but it will be very close. I wouldn't mind a match-up with serial SEC opponent bed wetter Bo Nix though.

Your scenario i see very unlikely. Illinois has little shot of beating Michigan. So Michigan or Ohio St is going to the playoff. We need some serious help to get in and I will be very uncomfortable watching the final playoffs rankings if the 2 spots after Georgia and Michigan/Ohio st winner are between Tennessee/Oregon/a 1 loss Big 12 champ/MichiganOhio st loser allbeit surely they should be longest shot with weakest schedules. Main thing is hope we win out or moot point and hope for Big 12 to cannibalize itself. 1 loss fpr TCU would go a long way.

I'm pretty sure our resume is already set, 5-1 against ranked teams with the only loss being to #1. The question is can the other contenders brimg their resumes up to match? The answer is no, not even remotely.

I want Ohio State first round.

I don't know why. Their strength is passing and their WR with a mobile QB. Our Weakest link is our DBs and pass coverage. I don't like the match-up. I'd love nothing more than to beat them though. I think it would be smarter to play someone else if given the option. JMO though.

Scoreboard. On the score board, Missouri gave Georgia a run for their money. I was only talking about the score of the game. Not extrapolatory whatever you call that...
Sometimes I like to look behind the scoreboard if you want to get a good feel for an opponent and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Now if you are just talking crap to some rival fan at work then by all means I endorse saying whatever you think will get their goat but on here when we are talking other teams I like to try and be clear eyed and look at things as they are. I wouldn't read too much into Missouri having a close game with UGA as far as this weekend is concerned. That game was close mostly because of turnovers, provided we do not turn the ball over alot we should smash them, they do have a good DL so that will be a test for our OL and an opportunity for them to get off the mat and be physical and establish the run against good competition.

I'm not sure about Saturday to be honest.

If Oregon wins out, I hope they are in the playoffs (with us). How often do we complain about teams playing cupcakes at the beginning of the season? If that 1st game against Georgia knocks them out of the playoffs, what team is going to schedule a top opponent in the 1st couple games of the season? JMO.
It's not about losing. It's about getting absolutely slaughtered.

A team that loses by 46 at any point should always be left out. They have no excuse.
