I don't see Blade coming back this season as a starter. 3 reasons: 1) the injury, 2) jeopardizing his draft stock if you rush him, and 3) if we get thru the next 2 weeks with wins using CCD (Chase/Chase/Drew), then you don't mess with success. Quite honestly, I see Joyce being a starter before Blade. He's way ahead of Blade in recovery.
The idiots who ranked them must think we rehired Todd Raleigh. All 3 starters are doing a bang up job right now. Heck, we were one great catch away from a perfect game this afternoon. Kids are fun to watch. Getting 2 big guys back only makes things tougher - for others. And to think we were pre-season ranked 9th in the SEC.

Back end relief of Tiddy, Halverson , Joyce , Mabry , Kirby , Evans , Sewell , Mark and Redmond. 9 guys to get you 9-12 outs!!! Geez!!! The more i look at this, the better!!!!
If the starters give us 5-6 innings....... the fat lady won't be singing but it might not be to far off.....
Sewell , Mabry and Tiddy give you some long relief options too when the starters get in early trouble.
I like Kirby and Mabry to come in after our starters to get 3-6 outs in any game.
Joyce & Halverson are the 7 & 8th inning guys.
Tidwell comes in and slams the door. Redmond too in situations.
Mark , Wyatt and even Kirby might be the most under appreciated on the staff. kind of the un sung hero's of the staff.... Just logging innings..... Super pumped about these ARMS!!!!
They teach throwing strikes over slide steps!Wow. This kid is really good. I hadn’t even heard of him until just before the season. I hoped he’d be a nice stop-gap until Tidwell returned. But this kid is our 2nd best pitcher right now. And just a freshman. He pitched a 1-hitter in 7 2/3 in his first game against SEC competition. And the 1 hit could’ve been caught.
I don’t think he’s coming out of the weekend rotation, even when/if Tidwell returns 100%. In that scenario, I think Burns remains the Friday starter, and you just replace Dollander with Tidwell on Saturday, then leave Beam in the Sunday spot. That’s a helluva weekend rotation.
The other benefit of that is, you can make Dollander a midweek guy and have him work on improving his slide step to hold runners on against the mid majors so you’re not experimenting with his delivery in SEC games. Maybe he can get it figured out by the postseason.
