Dropping commits???

Just curious, why include Meline since he just committed? Who do you think could cause him to waiver?

Also, is it going to matter for Broussard? Have his chances of qualifying improved?

Well, we are going to get 1 more WR in this class. He may feel the need to go somewhere else. If UGA ever decides to get back in it with him, he could go there. He has always loved the Dawgs. Oregon is a possibility too. If he takes a visit out there, he might be blown away. Some kids are. And there won't be as much competition at Oregon as there is at UT. I'd say he will stay committed to the Vols, but it's a long way to NSD...

I haven't heard anything in a while about Broussard's grades. He does have a ways to go though. Him and Meline both have alot of work ahead of them if they are going to get qualified, especially with Meline going to 3 different high schools...

OP I addressed this in the above thread. The way it is handled is not to say anything in the media. The coaching staff tells the recruit that they cannot play in the rudest method of all, but usually it just means you stop calling after telling them they may want to look elsewhere. This allows the recruit to claim they are "opening back up their recruitment"

If we got awesome talent coming in and no decommits, we could lose 3 of our current class without too much of a stink.
You would see Ralph Williams to Miami as a switch, Marques Pair to SC as a switch and Risean Broussard to LSU (if he got an offer, and if not he would end up probably at an MS school if I am guessing) as a switch without really any hard feelings.

I want to buy into this but we offered Brunetti. He doesn't fit the system. I would take Bray all day long over him. Even Rettig (I'm not sure when we finally offered him). I watched Brunetti on ESPN High School showcase and really wasn't even all that impressed. He must have some tools, but I'm glad things turned out they did with Bray.

Besides Brunetti being a very good prospect in his own right, he could be important for future recruiting from the Memphis/West Tennessee region.

They normally don't drop a player just because they found somebody better. They usually hold a scholarship for those people. It's just not good business to develop a reputation that you offer somebody and when somebody else better comes along you pull it. They never pulled those scholarships from the qb in tx and the one in Va. They were just told that they probably didn't fit the system and they should look elsewhere. The only one the pulled for sure was that Ohio db that ran into trouble. Other than that, i don't think they pulled any.

Isn't Brunetti the only person who has said anything about having an offer? Rivals still doesn't show him with a UT offer. I personally don't think that he has an offer, and honestly, I hope he doesn't get one. Crompton is 6'4 and had two batted balls last week. Brunetti is 5'11 so I would hate to see him try it. I vote we let him go to WVU.

Broussard under Chavis is SOOO much worse of a player than the same kid under Orgeron.

Sometimes a kid seems fat and lazy to in state teams (Jose Jose to UF after their camps) but our coaches see something and think they can develop the kid.

Pair would be the first kid I think who we would suggest check out other schools. The coaches would never officially admit it if they did that.

When you tell a kid to go elsewhere and you do not mind if it is a conference rival, it REALLY means you think you have better guys.

That is what would happen with Pair if we got D Robinson, Cullen and Stone IMO
