llv90, i agree with everything cept for the guards. i think smith stays at the 2(doesnt have the handles for pg, neither of the fr will be a great option at the 2). i think howell and either tabb or johnson will switch alot at the 1. i think the other may rs. i expect tabb to be the odd man out. i also expect chism and crews to start. we need rebounding and wingate just doesnt give us that. he would be very good coming off of the bench though.

You don't think they work to pick-up an impact JUCO PG? I think CBP still had 1 scholly left to give.

he has a scholly to give, but its likely that he will use it this year unless ramar smith wants it or unless kiwan smith qualifies which is unlikely.

sorry the marques playing point thing was already brought up. i like jujuan but whether or not he can start at the point i dunno, then again whether or not a freshman whose natural position is the 2 can start there is a toss up too.

idk about smith at the point. he just doesnt seem to fit it well, i dont think pearl has put him there all year.

I don't think JuJuan will play any PG next year. Tabb or Johnson and Bradshaw may play some backup minutes.

bradshaw will play about as much point as he does this year. he will mainly play the 3. our pgs will be howell and johnson/tabb.

bradshaw will be all over the place, that much is certain. i guess once the guys get in school everything else will be a little clearer

We'll see I suppose. Bradshaw has played point in some games when Howell was in the game. Howell was technically the PG but Dane was running the offense. Dane wants to earn some minutes at that position and at this point and am not willing to write him off.

o i dont think hes a bad alternative at the point, just that other than passley, we have no 3. so bradshaw will have to play alot of 3 since, other than passley and bradshaw, we are empty at the wing.

isn't he second on the team in apg? he can surely play some point, and tell me it wouldn't be nice to see bradshaw, lofton, crews, chism, and wingate on the floor at the same time.

I can definitely see your point and who knows what Pearl will do.... who would have thought Bradshaw would be playing where he is this year.

It's definitely going to be exciting.

crews, chism, and gate wont be on the floor at the same time. thatd put 2 guys out of place. crews will be a 4 and chism and gate will be 5s.

Pearl has already addressed that.

He will have 6 newcomers next year and doesn't want a 7th. Will hold for the next class.

Lofton 2
Smith 2, some 3
Passley 3
Bradshaw will play 3 and 4

Next years recruiting class is going to be too good for Pearl to WASTE it on another JUCO PG. UTK will be recruiting with all the heavy weights next year and will be able to get top 50 talent, so why would we waste one of those schollys this season? First of all, I am still amazed at all the people on here that don't want to believe what Pearl says about Johnson and Tabb. Has he not accomplished enough already for you to believe him. He says that both of them are very good at the PG position. He says Johnson is VERY underrated at the PG. In fact, there was a Rivals.com article just the other day where Tabb's high school coach says that UTK got a steal with Tabb and that his best position is...drum roll please...PG. If I want to know what position these players are truely best at I will listen to Pearl and their high school coach over you guys. BTW-not a chance in Hati that J. Smith starts at PG next season. He is a great player that brings a lot to the table. But, PG responsiblities is not one of them. He couldnt "run an offense."

I don't doubt CBP but have not seen too many impact freshman PG's. I hope he is but I would just feel more comfortable starting out w/ someone familiar w/ the speed of the college game.

But we do not need an impact PG.....Just need a PG to be steady and not turn the ball over!!!

I agree, next year we do not need someone as good as C.J. at point. The emphasis on scoring will be more directed to the post play of some really good freshmen. That with the outside shooting of Lofton and Smith and we could really be scary. I'm loving this season, but I can't wait for next.

Side note, Tennessean has an article on Tyler Smith that is interesting.
