Duke is your ACC Champion!

Not IMO and I said that. They didn't start the season with the intention of winning the tourney.

but it's not the first time it's ended this way and it won't be the last.

Duke's been the top dog by a large margin in the regular season before and lost out. It all shakes out.

As ludicrous as it may be, thats how it works.

Now wave yo hands in the aiya!

I understand they get to say that, but it's not reality. Just like UGA was not the SEC champs last seaon and MSU not this season. LSU is the SEC champion this year.

It is reality because that is the way the ACC does things, in reality.

I'm just teasing you though. I fully understand what your saying.

But Duke is the ACC Champion. C'mon now, wave those hands

I am proud of Duke, but they didn't beat the best team in the conference. Had they done that for the title, I might view it differently.

And that's how the SEC recognizes it. LSU is the Conference Champion.....Miss St. is the "SEC Tournament Champion."

I'm with you - I think the conference champ is a season accomplishment, not a weekend accomplishment.

So what happens if a team like Syracuse or Duke for that matter puts together a nice little run and wins it all? Two teams that clearly weren't the best this year?

What if Clemson or Arizona, two teams that shouldn't even be there, wins it all?

hard to call the tourney champs the actual conference champs. IMO, UNC won the conference.

That's what I like about you BPV...I truly believe you're as unbiased as humanly possible...

Right here you're not only playing down the accomplishment of one of your favorite teams but in turn you are propping up the hated rival of that favorite...

Duke is a very good team that will make it to at least the Sweet 16 and can make it as far as the Final 4 IMO...but I'm with you on the whole conference champ thing and I feel that way about any conference

Almost any D1 team can get hot for a 3-4 day period (i.e. UGA 2008) and they get conference champ recognition...but winning a title over a 2 month period where you face everyone in the conference is given basically no recognition at the end of the season

But UNC is the National Champion. Number 1. The best in the Country. Made it look easy. 6-2 Record against Duke to extend the overall series to a number that would take Duke decades to catch up too. C'mon now, wave those hands! :dance2:
