I actually don't mind the Panthers. I would say I like them, but they are the only freaking team Fox shows in East Tennessee and it's gotten old. But nothing will waver me from being a Redskin fan. Nothing.

As for Duke, I expect the same problems as last year. No one can score down low and you can't live and die with the 3 in college basketball anymore. You also can't win big games if you can't rebound. I don't see any good rebounders this year either.

And give Duke a break, they are a group of young guys. They aren't going to win a championship by anymeans but I don't think they will do worse than last year!

I don't think Duke will get another NC for awhile. Kentucky either. I hate to say it - well I don't really hate it - but there is just too much talent around the country and up and comming teams for teams like UK and Duke to dominate the CBB world again.

If I've withstood the past decade and still call myself a Redskin fan, I think that's a good testament. My best friend went to Winthrop and I became friends with several people he met down there, all of whom seem to be Panther fans. Not a bad little team, but they will never override the 'Skins.

As for Duke, they are young, but as with Tennessee, we've been saying that for awhile. The best thing that happened was McRoberts leaving. He was awful. He couldn't post up on me and I'm not even 6 ft tall. I think Duke is much improved from last year, but that isn't saying a whole lot.

Well your friends and best friends just don't know how to work it. :)

McRoberts was alright, but Paulus needs to leave with him as well, he isnt that great and thats showing so far again this year.

actually, the "best" friend is a die hard Bengals fan... poor guy. He's suffered a lot. He just made friends with Panther fans.

I think Paulus is slowly getting better. He actually impressed me towards the end of last season. I'm hoping that trend continues. McRob was NOT ALRIGHT. By no stretch of the imagination didn't he even attain alright status.

McRoberts was alright! I mean he showed emotion! Okay maybe too much at times, but he played well a few times with that emotion! But like you, its good that he moved on.

Let's see, Washington has a winning record (for now), the panthers don't. Washington also has 3 Super Bowl titles in my lifetime, Carolina 0. Now granted, we don't have any Super Bowls since Carolina came into the league. However, I think you would get a kick out of it if you looked at the head to head record.

McRoberts was the most overated player ever. Paulus has had a few rough roads, but excells as a shooter. I think he'll be fine.

Excel is a bit of a stretch, but he's turning into a good shooter. He still throws up some things that just make me scratch my head. His shooting is the very least of my worries though. His passing and dribbling, the two most important parts of his game seeing he is a PG, is what worries me. I repeat that I do think he is improving though.

Last year he had a lot of expectations placed on him because Duke really had no offensive weapons except for Nelson. Now that he has some better options and a more experience team he may be able to calm down a bit and be able to spread the ball around more.

you're missing my point. The kid doesn't have dribbling down. Whether he has to be an offensive weapon or not. Scheyer stepped in early and often last year. The offense wasn't great, but it wasn't exactly the problem. Defense, rebounding, and ball control were the problems.

Duke still needs a solid inside post presence. Paulus is a below average dribbler but maybe with some better talent surrounded with him than last year's squad it will help him out

Yes I know Carolina has done squat compared to any other team, but you "aren't getting my point" its to go for Carolina either way. Come on now. Again, I'll fix you. :):p

It's 5.5 hrs max from Kville to Dham. I make the reverse trip a few times each year - going to make it twice this season to see UT hoops.

And yes, you can get a ticket to a game at Cameron as long as it's not UNC or Maryland or State. Student section is past capacity 100% of the time, but the upper section is full about 8% of the time. It's a fun experience, even for Duke haters like myself.

Last year they had one of the top recruting classes, this year already got several top recruits. They will always be towards the top of the recruiting class every year, and get plenty of mcdonalds all americans (not saying that makes a good team).

The problem with the new 1-year in college rule before you can go to the NBA is it probably hurts Duke and other high academic schools. You can already see all these amazing players - Gordan, Mayo, Beasly, Patterson, Durant, Oden, Rose.. etc. etc. - and see they are taking teams to new heights. Problem is school isn't really a priority for most of them since they know they are one and done.

Duke usually doesn't get these kids or they don't meet the academic standards there. I just think that could potential hold Duke back - yes they will get a lot of awesome players.. but will they get any of the would-be pro players if not for the new rule?
