'25 Duke RB Transfer Star Thomas

I value your input.

This is why I complain. Take every RB I’ve mentioned and throw them out the window.

If he’s a better/more experienced Lewis, then why not just go get a “stud”?

If he’s coming in here and say beats out Lewis, what’s the difference in that and getting someone that’s actually really really good.
Because Lewis will be really good next year. He’s the starter. This guy will be a depth piece and his price will reflect that.

Tennessee isn’t looking for a star (no pun intended) RB. Tennessee is looking for a solid depth piece at the right price.

It's absolutely amazing how so many on here know better than our Coach's what we need. Hopefully CJH and his Coach's start checking VN and valuing the experts on here instead of of themselves! I know if I was a HC, this is the first place I'd come to get recruiting Intel and opinions! 🙄🙄🙄

Meh, I don’t mind him but I would swing for the fences. Even with three guys you can sell everyone on getting to the league with thread on the tires on one of the best rushing teams in the country. Instead of depth pieces I’d rather have a bunch of elites that compete and make each other better. I know maybe that isn’t cheap though.

And you just increased the cost of every player in the RB room.

They know what they’re doing.

Duke was a more pass-friendly offense than rushing offense. They ranked 128th in the country in rush yards per game and only 123rd in rush attempts per game. They just didn't run the ball, and when they did, they didn't do it well. My money is on their OL not being great at run blocking, because Thomas had the best YPC on the whole team at 4.1, so he did the best with what he was given much better than anyone else on the team. I only watched parts of a couple of their games this season, and all I remember really was their passing because it's what they did mostly.

I 100% would love to have him as a veteran, gritty RB on the roster based off my amateur analysis. Plus, he was used a lot in the pass game at Duke. MAYBE that will actually make us use the RB in the pass game more too.

He does a good job receiving as well. On the season, 20 catches for 153 yards (7.7 avg), 1 TD, and long of 29. As a reference, Sampson had 20 catches, 143 yards (7.2 avg), 0 TDs, and a long of 21.
This has to change and it has to start w/ our ability to pass protect on the O line. Sampson was too good to be so underutilized in our pass game bc it was necessary for him to be used for pass pro .

He’s a good player. Duke was terrible run blocking this year. He’s got good vision and moves pretty well laterally. Speed isn’t anywhere near Sampson or Lewis but it’s solid. He’d be really good in this offense. Great three-headed monster with him, Lewis, and Bishop. Mix in Daune Morris and you’ve got an elite run game

That's where I am personally as well
