If he goes to Auburn then there was money involved one way or another
Coming from a good family I'm not overly concerned with this aspect of it.
From the way he talks about his visits, and now the interview from duke report, IMO it is very clear we lead. He isn't even sure of a visit to duke, he wants to play early, and wants to be on a winning team. Auburn doesn't fit the mold, I'm expecting a hubbs committment, and sooner rather than later.
Coach K being gone for the Olympics has really helped us this summer.
I disagree 1,000,000%
There was a good article recently actually talking about the effects on recruitment it has, it was all positive. They talked to recruits and kids said it gave a whole new dimension, in a positive way of K.
I don't think K being gone has had any effect on Hubbs and/or Nichols recruitment. I've said for a while, both kids have made it a point that they both want to play big minutes early. It's rare that you can do that at duke, most likely it'd be year 2 or 3 before they saw major minutes.
Even if K was still in the states, I don't think Nichols/Hubbs recruitment would be in any different shape than it is right now.
I would never make a school my leader if I had not even taken an official visit with the head coach present. Don't be surprised if Duke is the leader when Coach K gets back on campus and Hubbs takes a visit. I know playing time is his big draw right now, but who is to say he would not get big minutes, or at least the promise of big minutes at Duke?
