wow guys, amazing performance by wake there..only losing by 10 to duke. Boy, I sure was wrong about that 8th seeded wake team, losing by JUST--guys, listen up: ONLY 10--ten points. Hells yea wake! Duke blows4life hahaha awwww yeaaa!
Is there anyone in here that actually thinks this guy knows what he is talking about?
Nah you're right my man, you nailed it: wake came to play...err, woke up when they cut leads and then fell asleep when they went down. You epitomize the weakest kind of basketball fan: a binary-type thinking that is biased to the hilt: if team A is losing they are 'giving it away' and if team A is winning/coming-back they are 'finally waking up'.
You have no idea what transpires in a typical basketball game, and you should stop pretending to know.
Stop looking for support from random messageboarders like myself and instead attempt to understand where you are wrong from the get-go. If that's too difficult: continue pandering.

Also, I would love for you to tell me how great Duke's defense played in that game, since that is where you called me out the first time. You like your stats so perhaps we can talk about the stretch when Wake hit 20 of 25 field goals, or how Wake was 61% from the field for the game. Duke won, awesome for them. Neither team played defense tonight and you can't argue that.
Well now you went and changed the post. Did wake play an excellent offensive game tonight? yes. Did Duke allow them to do that to some degree? Also yes. Did much of this wake run come after they were down by 20+ points? correct. Do teams often shoot higher percentages when down by giant amounts? also correct.
Duke started off amazingly, and though they did not keep that pace--keep in mind here: that pace would have meant duke would win by like 55 points, which is crazy and super crazy and nutso crazy--they prolonged that initial advantage.
This, as you probably know, is what tends to happen in college ball.
Duke won, and handily it turned out, and that was due largely in part to their early play, which was fantastic.
Wake did not simply 'wake up' at times and fail to do so at others. That would be a bad reading of the game.
you may or may not be a fan of wake, it doesn't matter, but it sure as heck seems like you have some kind of vested interest in proving that wake is somehow better than duke. Hint: they are not. Further hint: I wish they were. Wicked secret awesome hint: understand trends in games and how they tend to basically play out.
1. Also, much of that great offense came in the second half. Wake was within 10 points for almost the entire second half.
2. In other words, don't come in here spouting off at me until you get your facts straight.
1. So duke did in fact keep them in check when they 'woke up' in the 2nd half? Huh.
2. These are not 'facts', they are subjective viewpoints on a game. But nice impression of a boring toughie: 4.3/10.
There is a word here...it's 'moot'.
I am a fan of Wake, and I didn't say they were better than Duke. I have no interest in trying to prove that. Duke was the better team tonight, Wake was the better team a month ago. I was just tired of listening to announcers talk about how great Duke's defense was, because it was terrible.
