Making these calls without the brackets is senseless because matchups matter more than seeding.

As for my prediction....Duke's typical reliance on the 3 pointer and complete lack of a post threat results in yet another 1st or 2nd round(at the latest) exit....

Differant year, same story

this team isn't great, but they're better than you're giving them credit for. They can actually play a little D, which they haven't done for years.

I like them to the Sweet 16, depending upon the matchups. Heck, they're probably a 3 seed at worst.

they always roll through the first couple of rounds. no way they make the final four unless things break real easy.

I think that's true, but the field is going to be exceptionally weak this year.

I'll admit I haven't really watched them alot since they put Williams and Thomas in the starting lineup...what I saw before that was the same Duke from the last 3-4 years...

Regardless...they still don't have an inside game...and even with the shakeup in their starting lineup they still seem to be loosing their legs...which means the jump shots are going to continue to bounce off the front of the rim...without a reliable inside game I see another early exit...

But I do agree with what you said about seeding...it's hard to say anything without knowing who they'll be playing...they could get a good draw at which point a Sweet 16 appearance is likely...

They are a good team and I don't mean to let my bias cloud my judgement...I just don't think they have the dynamics of a team that makes a deep run into the tournament

I'm not arguing that they make a deep run. I'm arguing that they're going to have to get an awful draw not to make the sweet 16.

You think the field's that weak?

There's no chance a team like Butler or maybe even UCLA will be seeded low enough to face them early and give them fits?

I really haven't followed things outside the top 10-15 enough to really know

I think the field is very weak and there just aren't that many great basketball players in this field.

There are definitely certain teams that matchup well with Duke, but they would have to be unlucky to draw one in the first two rounds.

even with one or two more losses to UNC, Duke likely gets a 3 seed and plays in the Greensboro regional. It will take an exceptionally tough draw for them to get knocked out on the first weekend.

ucla is garbage as is the rest of the pac-10. of course the sec and big-10 is garbage too. some are bound to play eachother.
