Dumb songs you sing to your dog, cat, kids, etc

My wife has two, one for each dog.

1. Scratch-a-belly, for the 88 pound Czech Sheppard and; 2. Rub-the-baby- belly, for the Belgian Malinwois.

Each dog reacts independently to her own song.

When I sing, their reactions are the same and I am usually left bleeding.

Usually i make up songs but my dog's name is Laika so songs with "like a" get hijacked

She's Laika rainbow
Rock me Laika hurricane
Etc.

If you want some surf style music for her check out Laika and the Cosmonauts

I made up a going to school song about 3 years ago that I sing to get my boys in a good mood. Lyrics change some but the chorus is the same

We don't sing to our dog but he has about 15 funny nicknames.

I probably call me dog by his actual name (or some variation of it) maybe 2% of the time. At any given time he's on a rotation of about 10 different names that don't have anything to do with anything at all. As far as songs go, I'll sing him actual, legitimate songs with made up words that I wouldn't humiliate myself by repeating here.

This is the song that made me aware of the original Laika the space dog. We figured it was the perfect name for a rescue.

I like-a that you named your dog Laika. But was it in the sense of honoring a fallen hero or just letting her know you'll give her up for science if she doesn't keep it straight?

It's the dog that nobody wanted. That's why we chose it for a rescue. But also I'm a nerd for science and history.

BTW, Laika means barker which turned out to be appropriate. My dog freaks out randomly at the TV all the time. It drives me nuts and there is no way of breaking her of the habit. I think she thinks the TV is two-way communication with the world and she wants to tell the world she's excited about visitors, or treats, or whatever.

lol

Btw, I just remembered a verse from a song from a while back, Absent Friends by Divine Comedy:

Laika flew through inky blue
'Til Laika neared the atmosphere and Laika knew
Laika's life was through.

That verse would be sad if it wasn't so goofy. Which actually went for the entire song.

I rocked both of my girls to sleep singing Rocky Top.

My oldest (10 year old) is now learning to play it on the violin.

They both love the Vols. I like to think I played a role in that.

Sung in a "please, please go to sleep" >> way >> but with great love >> wish I could sing it again:

Hush little baby don't say a word
Daddy's gonna buy you a mocking bird

If that mocking bird don't sing
Daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring

If that diamond ring don't shine
Daddy's gonna buy you a por-ke-pine

If that por-ke_pine's to sharp
Daddy's gonna buy you a golden harp

If that that golden harp's outa tune
Daddy's gonna buy you a trip to the moon

Iii-iii -if on the trip to the moon
you loo-oo-oo-ok down and say

Da a dy I love you

I will be-ee haaappy

My dad used to sing that to me too. Funny thing is when he sang it, I knew within his power he'd try to do it all.

That's funny.
