Duwaun Blair or Black Griffen....

He won't do much at the next level, but you can't deny that he doesn't have strength.
I didn't deny that he's strong. Size and Strength are the highlight of his list of skills and attributes.

Regardless, him being on the first team AA squad was garbage to me. His stats are decent, but not dominant and he's only the second best player on his own team.

He's definitely a load...but some of his bread-and-butter moves are basically illegal and get called on everyone else...

It's something about officiating that just baffles me...how some players are just allowed to do things that would be called fouls on other players...

Blair is allowed to push people around in a way that anyone else....even people playing in the same game against him...aren't allowed to

Where did I disagree with you? I do think that he may be first team worthy based on his offensive rebounding alone.

This, I agree with.

I also believe he was first team worthy because of his rebounding ability and when given the ball down low he could almost score at will. He will be given a greater opportunity to score without Sam Young in the lineup next year and you'll see his PPG rise (then again they'll need to find another great PG to feed him the ball, but that hasn't been a problem for Pitt in recent years). When he wasn't in foul trouble throughout the year Pitt was nearly unbeatable.

I didn't say you disagreed. I simply made the statement that he shouldn't have been on the AA team. There is no room for him and Hansbrough.

Jerome Lane should have been a first team AA as well then.

He averaged 15 and 12. He was in a tough conference, but not one littered with great opposing big men.

Just out of curiosity who would you replace them with?
I would have dropped one of the big men and added another guard. Ty Lawson is a big snub to me. Sherron Collins relegated to third team was garbage. Tyreke Evans was awesome for Memphis. Our very own conf. MVP has a very good argument.

Blair was solid, but didn't have an AA season to me. He and Hansbrough are one in the same and Hansbrough boasts dramatically better stats.

I'm still amazed that Lawson could be the POY in the ACC but get left off the AA team in favor of a teammate

I feel like Hanbrough was almost a legacy pick for the 1st team....like they put him on the 1st team because he was on it last year...Hansbrough was much less of a factor in his teams success this year than he was last year

I was very surprised not to see Lawson as a first teamer, but If I were to change anything it would be to put Lawson in for Hansbrough. Both aren't the best players on their teams, but I think Blair meant more for Pitt than Hansbrough for UNC also the stats aren't to far off; Blair just subs more points for more rebounds.

Nonetheless, Hansbrough scored, rebounded, shot a good % and made free throws. His defense sucked as usual, but that's not typically in play on these AA teams.

I think he was chosen because he was first team last year. Lawson was MUCH more important to UNC this year. UNC handled Oklahoma quite easily without Hansbrough in the lineup for most of the first half of that game. Griffen, by the way, is a better player than Hansbrough--who is a classic overachiever, not terribly gifted by any stretch but a very hard worker.
