Dy'shawn Mobley 6' 210 lbs, Powell High School, Powell, TN.

Anyone have a clue why Tennessee isn't looking at this kid? He's already rushed for 1143 yards in 6 games and has 19 TD! He only played in the first half of the game against Anderson County last week and had 192 yards on 10 carries and scored 6 TDs! He's got break away speed with runs of 30 yards or more in just about every game. These are not slouch teams Powell is playing against either. This is against the likes of Oak Ridge, Anderson County, Rhea County and Austin East.

He has and offer from Toledo and Kentucky and Miss State are looking at him as well.

I think you just answered your own question at the end.

God love the east Tennessee high school talent scouts that frequent this board.

Cobb was good enough to play at Tennessee, just not good enough to play quarterback. For him, that was non-negotiable. Kentucky offered him a shot at QB, thus he went there. As it turns out, he spent more than half his career with the Wildcats at WR and was drafted at that position. I guess Fulmer knew better after all, being that is where he envisioned him playing at Tennessee.

Truth be told, Cobb would have most likely been an above average player at best at Tennessee. He was the showcase player at Kentucky and was deified by fans because he was the best player on the entire team and did everything (Wildcat QB, WR, PR, KR). That most likely wouldn't have been the case at UT.

What's your relation to Mobley?

Watched him play last night. Mobley is a man among boys out there. He didn't even look tired. Will that translate to college success? Idk. But he did look impressive.

What's your relation to Mobley?

I went to High School with Daryle Smith and John Bruhin a Powell back in the late 70's and Early 80's and follow Powell Football. He's the best running back I've seen in this area in quite sometime. I think he's a better back than even Devrin Young was in his Senior season at Bearden. Mobley is going to play Div 1 football somewhere, with the monster season he is already having. I was just wondering why Tennessee shows no interest, yet they were all over the Blanc kid, who I think is a good kid. I just think that Mobley is better.

BTW, I believe Randall Cobb would have been better than a middling talent at UT. He's pretty much proved he was no fluke in Green Bay's first game this season already. I think no one is underestimating him in the NFL now.

And Gerald Jones would have been a superstar at Kentucky. Cobb at Tennessee, would have still been drafted, much like Denarius Moore. His work ethic and obvious talent would have gotten him to the NFL no matter where he played college ball. But let's be honest, in WR terms only, he's no AJ Green, he's no Julio Jones. Kentucky's gross lack of talent highlighted his ability. At Tennessee, the talent at WR was much better and Cobb would have been another really good college WR. I think Denarius Moore is better and Cobb probably falls behind him and ahead of Gerald Jones if he had come to UT. That's not a knock on his talent, but there are only so many balls to go around and he would have had to mix in with players whose ability was much more in line with his own rather than being the sole offensive focus for his entire team like he was at Kentucky.

This kid had similar numbers halfway through the season last year but was hampered by an ankle injury down the stretch. He also had some off the field issues. But bar none, I think this kid is a stud! I thought he was last yr.

God love Terry Fair who was a great Vol and a pretty good NFL player. During a televised game last yr, he said that Mobley was a legit D-1 player. But I'm sure as you said, the "East Tenn scouts" don't know everything. But I'm thinking Terry Fair knows more than both me and you.

Cobb was good enough to play at Tennessee, Fulmer was just to dumb to offer him sooner.

Not true. I'm not at all a Phil Failure supporter, but Failure did offer him early, as a WR, not as a QB. Cobb wanted to play QB, Phil told him his future is at WR not QB. Phil was honest and most importantly, correct. But, because the Vols have the most idiotic fan base, they're mad at Phil, not Cobb, who deserted his hometown team for the joke that is called Kentucky.

I have seen Mobley play at most of the Powell games and I do think he has D1 talent from the neck down, but I am not sold on him from the neck up.

I'm guessing you didn't go to "colledge", between the misspellings and run on sentence you actually succeeded in writing a more unreadable statement that Brian Kimbrow. And we are not in position to be turning down anybody? I guess I forgot that the NCAA changed the rules for us so that we can just sign as many players as we want. Tell me this genius, is he any better that Alden Hill or Immani Cross? The answer is no! Dooley is not just waiting to see, he is not even on Dooley's radar, especially with the prospects at running back in the 2013 class.

If I was going to insult someone's intelligence based on their grammar, I would damn well make sure my post didn't have any mistakes.

i.e. The sentence you mention run on sentence is a run on sentence.
