Early odds for College Football

Yea, I think that's interesting. Not all that surprised, just interesting. Of course if preseason rankings/odds meant anything, FSU would have won every other NC for the last 20 years.

Sorry, I've just always felt they get WAY over rated.

You aren't the only one.

I'll take Bama. Saban rarely loses twice consecutively to the same school. I think he gets his revenge at Kyle Field. LSU still has Mettenburger (sp?) Costly turnovers will bite them. The best chance for them to lose is in ATL against Georgia.

A&M was a client of mine before I retired (so was Tenn), College Station is about as far from anything as you can get in TX. I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing taller than the trees in College Station is Kyle Field.

Not an easy place for a visiting team. Plus all those guys running around with "buzz cuts" you'd think you were in basic training in the military.

LOL What are you telling me I'm wrong? Reminds me of Cornvalley, OR (home of the beavs) only College Station is further from civilization.

I had good people to work with at A&M, so I don't have a bone to pick with them. Just stating an impression of the area. Are you telling me I'm wrong?

I think your perception of distance isn't adjusted for Texas. Relatively speaking, A&M is just down the road from Houston and isn't really very far from Austin either.

Go to west Texas and you'll really see what the middle of nowhere looks like.

I get the home field advantage aspect. I also think Johnny is a hell of a ball player. I just don't see Sumlin getting Saban twice consecutively, Hope I'm wrong though. Looking forward to what I hope is a prime time game, and one of the best games of the year.

I'll agree Austin isn't all that far. Now that drive from Houston, seems like a long ways. And yes there are some pretty empty places in W. TX. I had a client in Hobs NM if that tells you anything. Still, there isn't anything around College Station in ANY direction. I traveled 49 states on business over 30 years, both rural and urban areas, so I do have a pretty good understanding.
