Early Predictions for Starting team?

No I am just tired of this ridiculous argument that cannot be decided on a message board. We will just have to wait until next season plays itself out and we see which RB's make their way onto the field. Your opinion is it will be one guy. My opinion is it will be another guy. We can continue to talk in ciricles, but it doesnt make any difference.

You weren't tired of the conversation until you bungled your argument and stated that Hardesty is a freshmen who's never taken a snap...and it doesn't make any difference because you won't see who's running the ball anyway. You'll probably think Coker and Hardesty are high school seniors after next season. Besides, if we do away with every argument that hasn't been decided on the field we might as well shut the site down. Arguing opinions is a part of the board...unless, of course, your argument is based in fiction.

you can not depend on a guy for what he did in high school. Fulmer really likes McNeil; he will start. He's not that big on Bolden; he will not start or even play that much. I can't belive no one mentioned Mapu; he could be a starter. They could eventually move McBride to DE, and play Mapu at DT.

Starting lineup against Cal:

First of all, Marvin Mitchell will be suspended, or otherwise, he would be the starter at MLB. Also, not sure if Josh McNeil will be ready and start by game 1, but I think he will and will be the anchor on our line for the next 4 years. The coaches really like him and I think he is a future All-Conference player.

DE: Xavier Mitchell
DT: Turk McBride
DT: Justin Harrell
DE: Antonio Reynolds

SLB: Ryan Karl
MLB: Jerod Mayo
WLB: Rico McCoy

CB: Jonathan Wade
CB: Inky Johnson
FS: Jonathan Hefney
SS: Antwan Stewart
(Morely will be the 5th DB in our nickel packages)

Offense:

QB: Erik Ainge

LT: Aaron Sears
LG: David Ligon
C: Josh McNeil
RG: Ramon Foster
RT: Eric Young

RB: Arian Foster(Hardesty is the most talented RB on the team)
FB: Corey Anderson

WR: Robert Meachem
WR: Jayson Swain(Lucas Taylor if Swain isn't healthy)
TE: Chris Brown

Mikey, you really have no clue. I promise you the Tennessee staff is higher on Hardesty than they are LaMarcus Coker. I'm sorry, they just are. I could careless who is the better between the two, in fact, I would probably pull for Coker seeing how he is a "Tennessee guy", but the truth is, the staff LOVES Montario Hardesty and think he is the most talented RB we have on our football team. Just the way it is, man.

Sorry, man, thats just what has been said by members of the coaching staff. You can either believe me or say "this guy is full of it and I don't believe him". Its really up to you and its totally meaningless to me. I'm pullung for Coker, I hope he "blows us away" this fall and ends up with a NC and Heisman Thophy before leaving Tennessee.

Mikey01 is the enlightened one who sits and talks player personnel with Fulmer on a weekly basis. My dad was at the Big Orange caravan a couple weekends ago when it was in Chattanooga. While there he asked Fulmer about the health of the RB's and how they were progressing. Fulmer said Hardesty and Coker would both be ready in the Fall and that he expects Hardesty to push Foster for the starting job, even though Foster was amazing last year. He didn't say anything about Coker pushing for the starting job. But, hey you are the one with all the awesome "contacts" within the program. Mikey01 must be code for....Coach Fulmer. Come on big guy you don't need to be posting on this board. Just go coach your football team.

I beg your forgiveness...I didn't realize you had such an inside track. You should have told me your Daddy talked to Phillip in such an intimate setting as a Big Orange Caravan stop. Again...we'll see.

You forget, you are the one that keeps saying "Oh yeah what coach have you talked to? I've talked to such and such coach and I know what they are thinking. Who cares what they say to other people I talk to the coaches and they tell me something different." You are a joke. Ha.

I think this point is moot. Come fall practice all three of the RB's will get an opportunity to show why they should be the starter.

Based on what I've read its 1) Foster 2) Hardesty 3) Coker but thats all subject to change this fall. Considering Foster and Hardesty are coming off major surgery they will both have to restablish themselves, though I believe Foster will be the starter. Foster had surgery on both his shoulder and knee I think. Coker had a problem last year holding on to the ball during scrimmage.

After Hardesty and Riggs got injured last year, and they decided to continue redshirting Coker is a little telling in my opinion. Apparently no one thought he would be an impact player as a true freshmen or they thought Foster was good enough that they didn't need Coker as a back-up.

However, Fulmer has been too reluctant to play true freshmen IMO. Most people felt D Morley should have seen considerably more playing time last year.

Coker had an injured shoulder that he, too, had surgery on. Had he not been injured the redshirt was coming off.

He should've had more P.T. last year. I don't think that it will be a problem this though. This kid is going to be an absolute stud for the over the next few years. He is a pure athlete and a playmaker. I can't wait to see what this guy is going to do this year.
