Sometimes, things happen in life that just make you happy to be alive... And having seen EB's hard work pay off... Well, I've never been more proud to be a Vol fan. GBO and GKC

Honestly, as classy as I think this is in principle, it strikes me as odd. I don't see any pro fans "getting it". If he wanted to honor Inky, why not switch #'s while still at UT? Now, we all know him as 14, & truthfully, i'm now gonna miss seeing 14 all over the field being a athletic freak.

He didn't do it for the fans. He did it for Inky.

I am so proud to have Eric Berry be a part of this program. Always has been a class act.

Chiefs already have a WR with 14. Berry doesn't seem like the type to show up as a rookie and start demanding other people's number.

Former Tennessee safety Eric Berry will wear No. 29 on his Kansas City Chiefs jersey to honor former Tennessee defensive back Inky Johnson. Johnson suffered a devastating shoulder injury in 2006. He was a graduate assistant coach under former UT coaches Phillip Fulmer and Lane Kiffin before being reassigned to the UT's development office this past January.

Just another example of EB's character and loyalty to his University of Tennessee teammates, especially a quality guy like Inky. Pretty cool!:good!:
