It's a great formula, but it doesn't work as well when you are changing coordinators on a regular basis. That is the reality of becoming a championship winning program. How many different coordinators has Saban had? It's crazy. A head coach can only serve as a figure head for so long. I'm not familiar enough with Orgeron's history at Ole Miss, USC or LSU to know how accurate of a description that is of him. However, those coaches are always exposed eventually for what they are, if they are just nothing more than "figure heads" or "CEO's". Gene Chizik is a good example.

There are definitely some strong similarities to this years LSU team and Chizik’s title team. I think maybe the difference will be that O seems to be different than he was at Ole Miss and he was willing to dramatically change his philosophy and it succeeded. If he can parlay this success into top recruiting classes for the 3-4 years I think they can consistently be among the best in the country. Like you said though, not even Saban is good enough for turnover not to effect him.

Hm, technically they changed offensive coordinators every year since he has been there, except this last year.

2016 - fired OC Cam Cameron when he was appoint interim head coach (on day one, this makes him a winner in my book lol)... appointed Steve Ensminger as interim OC.
2017 - hired Matt Canada and fired him during the years for insubordination (more or less)
2018 - promoted Steve Ensminger as OC

And you have been exposed for bad calls.

Kiffin to LSU (or Houston or...)

Looks like to everyone else he got it done. ;)

What is interesting is, while you were giving him a hard time in 2016, I thought actually 2016 and 2017 were his best coaching years so far, not this year. Its those rough years without the personnel and coaching staff that was the hard years, that's the coaching job. It might come to a surprise to you that all of this isn't so easy, you don't just magically throw some Xs and Os up on a blackboard and puff.... magic you have a great team.

I would say the most impressive game was LSU at Alabama in 2017, with basically no real offensive and defensive line.... I thought they played really well and it was actually closer than the scoreboard showed. Ed was playing with a half deck at best. 2016 and 2017 actually setup for this year, he recruited very hard and got guys other people didn't want i.e. Jefferson, Clyde, Cushionberry, etc. than went into the Juco area to get some players i.e. Traore and Lewis, and than transfers like Moss (who was not really highly recruited) and Burrow.

That doesn't mean I think the Cookie Monster is the best of anything but none of this was easy, the years you were busy rattling your mouth off were the years he was doing his best work - which to me shows your opinion isn't worth ****.

Ed should have been winning coach of year awards in 2016/2017... that was the real magic, if any.... this year was just the payoff.

If LSU is not competing for championships that won't last, that doesn't mean win every year or anything but the record is meaningless. What they have said for some time is, if you ain't competing for championships... you're on borrowed time.... Les was in hindsight probably given too much time.... not that they didn't win a championship, but they weren't even working at it.... eventually a losing season was coming under Les, probably in 2016 or 2017.
This sounds a lot like the Fulmer situation. To me it seems like all the other sec schools who did the same thing we did ( which was cut a long tenured coach who had lots of success early on and then started declining) are benefiting from that decision except for us. Just freaking figures.

Don't coaches always win coach of the year awards for losing to Troy? LOL. Look, you can gloat a little bit, and I will be the first to admit that I'm wrong just as much or even more than I am right... but you are overdoing it with this praise. Ed O has evolved and is obviously getting incredible results at the moment... but if he remains LSU's head coach for the next 6 years and beyond, I don't see that as a bad thing for the rest of the SEC West. I could be wrong again, but I don't see this as the start of any dynasty. 2019 looks much more like a one year wonder for LSU.

Maybe they should, I don't count on you to understand that though.

I never over praised the Cookie Monster, he done a good to great job, his best years, imo were easily 2016 and 2017. I'm not gloating at all, if not I'm doing the opposite, this year was simply the pay off.

If someone is going to give him credit for every loss i.e. Troy than you have give him credit for the wins i.e. 15-0. Personally, he was doing miracle work back in 2016/2017, just keeping the team together... really the games that were obvious were Wisconsin in 2016 and Mississippi State in 2017. Literally, Mississippi State just dominated on the lines, pure ****ing domination. Well, I guess Coach O could have sat there and listen to the dumb asses here, but what did he do.... got to work... figured out some short term fixes and survived. Many of the decisions in 2016-2017 were really the building blocks for this year, the whole offensive line improvement is all him... he moved people, he recruited juco.... created tackles from guards... moved guys from defensive line to the offensive line, the joke at LSU the last 5-7 years is.... LSU has four guards and a center as they've had a hard time recruiting tackles.

When someone says a "one hit wonder", I just kind of smile.... the one hit wonder was really the two drink minimum i.e. 2016 and 2017. Under Les, I actually don't believe LSU would have been bowl eligible in 2016 or 2017.... let alone built the team up.... I would still say the Cookie Monster is only playing with a 75% deck compared to what Les had in many years... personnel is only now starting to come online.

This is ridiculous. LSU could easily have four players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft in April, including the #1 overall pick (Burrow, Delpit, Fulton and Queen). That is consistent with the draft picks that LSU had following the best seasons under Les Miles. You are overreaching with some of this effusiveness.

What is ridiculous, his players are only now coming on line i.e. classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019.

First, you made horrible calls about Orgeron, multiple of them. Literally, made zero sense. Than once I called you out on it and you get defensive and say somehow I'm "gloating" instead just admitting you have no idea what you are talking about. Now you are down to saying LSU will have players drafted in the NFL this year, so what, what does that have to do with my comments. Personnel wise, Orgeron was playing with a half deck in 2016/2017... probably a 60% deck in 2018 and probably a 75% deck this year... .meaning there is some good players but its uneven. In some positions they have plenty of depth i.e. offensive line, others almost none i.e. Safety and Linebacker.

The defensive personnel should be drastically improved over the next or so.

You are doubling down on stupid, just stop.

It sucks to even say this but why do coaches win and get automatic Saban money?

LSU failed themselves from several positions already.

Not sure I even know what this means.

Why would anyone have a discussion with you about anything, clearly you don't want to admit you were wrong on something that really doesn't require much analysis? (not really a question, have a nice life, better for me to put an stubborn idiot on ignore)

You're on my ignore for being a stubborn prick that doubles down on dumb and isn't man enough to admit an obvious error.
