Bethune-Cookman either had nothing to sell sponsorships for (possible) or had no one willing to sponsor the facilities they have (more likely).
Tough look for the school and will lead to a long period of athletic struggle.
HBCUs are never flush with cash, but should've moved heaven and earth to keep EReed willing to coach.
I would bet good faith effort would have been enough to keep Ed Reed working for the school. He is sacrificing to be there in the first place.
Ed Reed said that he had to clean out his own office and then decided to resign per ESPN.
I understand the argument that Reed shouldn't have done some of the social media stuff, but a lot of HBCUs are notoriously broken (and headed by corrupt leaders) so hopefully this gets some of that ironed out.Looks like them telling him to kick rocks riled up a hornets nest and now the students are protesting to not only bring him back, for members of the board to step down, and students are posting pictures of their rooms infested with mold. The president of the school's big brain idea was to go on tv I'm guessing and saying it wasn't mold it was mildew so I'm sure that's going over quite well
