Eddie Darby -Greenfield High School
Miss Basketball Class A
Looking at the numbers from what I saw she got up more shots than Ace. Correct me if I'm missing somethingCheck out the stats from this tournament where Edie had better stats than Ace in every category except rebounds.

Seems a bit strange they wasn't even interested in this kid and didn't want Ace Strickland (imo much better player) and all of a sudden we offer Darby and she commits on the spot. Not one other single power 5 interest. This blows my mind

Ace - 4/13 from 3pt .31 % 5/25 FG .20% 21 rebounds
Darby - 6/26 3pt .23 % 14/37 FG .37% 8 rebounds
Congratulations to the kid just not sure comparing these two in different positions is an accurate comparison.
Like those assist!Check out the stats from this tournament where Edie had better stats than Ace in every category except rebounds.

I wouldn’t count on her just being a practice player. She is smart with the ball and she can shoot better than her sister can. Everyone is hung up on how she plays on 1A. There was 2 other girls that went to Power 5 schools off that same team as well. Just because you come from a small school don’t mean you can’t play big time Basketball. UT took Tess and Indiana took her team mate Chloe. So much for the 1A small town narrative. It was a package deal ... she will be a practice player .. its ok ..they need them too ..
A lefty who can shoot with her right. Quick release. Does not hesitate when open. Not a set shot but an actual jumper. Good handle left or right. Good anticipation on defense. Looks like a solid player to me...
right tenn could edia full ride if under 15 . and if tenn at 15 edia pays her own way that year. with lottery fund being in state student. all she have to pay for her room. books and classes are free with good grades. its not like they charge her for airline tickets and prictice time. i say walkons in football get free rooms and team meals. had nince gad. from ut they the students can buy lunch card eat all they want for a set price. free meals was for away games same as rooms.I didn’t know we had so many scholarship managers who decide who is worthy of getting a scholarship or not.
A scholarship next year is a definite possibility. Many walk-ons earn their scholarships. Just wondering why not this year if there is one available.
Yea who offered her if she is so goodI wouldn’t count on her just being a practice player. She is smart with the ball and she can shoot better than her sister can. Girls dont have athleticism ... her 3 pt shooting doesnt even stand out .. who else was knocking her door down to sign ???I agree, watching some of her film she appears to move well, has a great handle and has some athleticism.
She seems to have a really high BBall IQ and her stats show a great A/TO and very low turnovers.
The same reason Geno and Dawn had walk ons. They liked the kid but may not be a scholarship type player (yet) so let them come on their own dime , improve practice with more bodies, and let the rest work itself out.
Plus none of us know if Jordan Walker is coming back, or Rae, or who we get out of the portal. Too many unknowns right now so those scholarships that we might think are open actually aren't.
Walkons can become important members of great teams. Even in you hate UConn to your core you can rejoice with this former walkon.
Courtney Elmark or Elkmark. She wasn't a walkon though...pretty sure she was a McD AA or if not, fairly high ranked. Did well at ASU from what I recall.Always liked when Brianna would get some time. She was a tough kid and a hard worker. Always tried to make the right plays when she was in the game and played like it was 0-0 when she entered.
What was the name of that blonde girl who went back home to Arizona? She had a lot of potential but it never realized itself.
Makes sense. Thanks. The same reason Geno and Dawn had walk ons. They liked the kid but may not be a scholarship type player (yet) so let them come on their own dime , improve practice with more bodies, and let the rest work itself out.
