So I was listening to TSR on the way to work today and they said that several of the EE have gained weight since getting on campus. They said that Moseley has gained 18 pounds. I find that very hard to believe.

They also said others have gained a bunch as well... what are they feeding those boys over there! :)

I was talking to Will Overstreet's father one day before a football game his sophomore season and he said in the first one and a half years at Tennessee, Will had to buy new larger clothes at least every 6 months because of his growth related to the weight room. Moseley will be a monster at CB and may see a lot of action this fall. He is All SEC material.

A high protein diet and intensive weight training will do this. Plus these guys are young, generally healthy, and have frames that accept extra muscle. Added to that, often these guys are still growing. Not hard to believe at all. Sumo wrestlers do it all the time, though to an extreme undesired in football.

I gained 20lbs at basic training and that was with zero weight lifting. Just PT and three solid meals a day. I've always had a hard time putting on weight. I think it possible.

Didn't Bray add some weight right before the draft? He was always wirey.

I think we've said that every time we've hired one...

Conditioning and appearance wise, they were worlds better imo...Lawson doesn't teach tackling angles.

For a lot of these guys it is the first real exposure to professional training. Just going from haphazardly eating to 3 square meals and 2 snacks a day, all high protein and carbs at the right times makes a HUGE difference. And at that age, you are pumping out natty testosterone so your muscles soak that protein up like a sponge.

I too gained a lot of weight in Army boot camp. I went from a skinny 155 to about 180 in 8 weeks, with no weight lifting. It was from three hots and a cot and lots of exercise. So I believe this about Moseley. Great job by the strength and conditioning coaches.

I have been afraid to ask this question for fear of raising suspicion.

Why? The nutrition and world class strength and conditioning is something their bodies have never experienced. Especially the skinny/smaller kids like Payne and Mosley, both of which have put on 15-18 lbs in 6 weeks. The smallest kids will put on weight, the biggest kids will lose weight. Nothing to worry about here IMO.
