I was looking at other fan bases forums during games. It’s amazing how similar the over emotional negative responses are when their team is losing and playing bad. I noticed one poster even apologized after their team won for the negative posts during the game.

So I have a question. Do any of you ever look at your posts made during a game and after the game think “what the hell was I thinking” or are you proud of your negative posts?

We all get emotional during games but some of you become unglued and post the most immature crap imaginable.

Oh, I've definitely had to apologize for a few of mine, usually made when I had been drinking, not that that excuses it.

This is where you'll find me on Sunday mornings! And, you will NEVER catch me at the keyboard posting during a game since I have taped every game for 25 years. FF through all the commercials and opponent TDs.

If I said it, I meant it at the time. Winning doesn't change that. It only alleviates the issue until it rears its head again. But I'll give credit where due too. For example, I thought Milton (and others) played bad in some games. I also think he's played fairly good the last 2 and that the OL/WRs didn't give him much to work with in some games.

I don't post during games, but I did buy one of those badass smoke grey Condredge Holloway throwback jerseys, number 7, after the game Saturday. That was some primo emotional spending (with an assist from a few pints of my local brewpub's delicious dunkel) right there!

But now you can wear that bad boy to the games. Definitely worth it!

The game thread is for emotional reactions that are meant to be spoken and thrown away. Zero second thoughts to it as you have to be a real clown to drag up real-time commented game threads with the old "ThIs YoU?" on a game reaction comment to self-boost your lack of self-confidence.

These standard threads regret not, but sometimes I see something I changed my mind about, but who doesn't change their mind or point of on things? It was said in a certain frame that just isn't relevant to me today. Same with my fishing videos. Yeah, they were 100% ass at one point, but I still leave them up.

Responding with equal or greater energy when the opportunity arises to guys, nah. Internet feelings don't exist to me. You poke, I poke back and I don't care about bans or making friends off the internet so my only filter is what I choose.

The gamethread is like watching the game in a bar. Except worse. I suspect a large percentage of those crazier posts aren’t even remembered as being made by the original poster…..😂

I did an experiment this past UK game. I did not watch or listen or check the score of the game at all. I only went by occassionally checking thr game thread and looking at the posts on the football board. I was 100% sure UT lost looking at what people were saying. But the final score ended up being a comfortable win. Was pretty amusing.

I tend to stay upbeat during the game, so no, I have never regretted anything or apologized.

I think maybe one time I heavily criticized a player for a bad play during the game, then afterwards acknowledged that he played well the rest of the game.

Interesting that you bring this topic up now, because my best friend from college decided after the bama game that "he would not watch again until Milton was no longer the starter" and I absolutely ripped into him with a text yesterday after the UK win and told him he's not allowed back on the bandwagon unitl next year.

He gets incredibly emotional during the games, everythign about our team sucks, etc etc, and does apologize afterwards, but I bascially have had enough and don't want to see 25 negative tweets because we miss one play (exagerating, but only slightly 😁).

The game is four quarters. Some fans get mad when the team plays a bad quarter or half (this team can’t put a whole game together blah blah blah). Maybe we should hold ourselves to the same standard and wait the full game before we say anything stupid. If we expect a bunch of kids/young men who are out there pouring their hearts out on the field to perform for a full 4 quarters, maybe we should do the same with our comments. Just imo. Blast away

I get too emotional during the game so I try to avoid adding to the game thread when I’m really mad. But, I think the game thread is a good release for lots of folks and I don’t mind overly negative comments from other posters. I figure it’s far better to vent/argue over the internet as opposed to taking it out on your family or a stranger at the bar.
