Anybody else notice a goodly number of empty seats at the LSU-Florida game? Yes, the seats were in the nosebleed sections, but at an SEC game like this?

There's been plenty of discussion here about attendance at UT games, but here we have a game between two pretty good SEC teams and they can't fill a 92,000-seat stadium? I'm surprised.

I'm sure our section is emptied out by now.

The LSU student section looked a little thin when the 4th quarter started.

I agree about the economy and HDTV, but I guess I am just pointing out that all the griping about the attendance at UT is a problem not only in Knoxville.

Stadium was full when the game started, and UF sold out it's allotment.

There won't be a full student section at UT the rest of the year. I'm definitely not paying to go see Matt Simms, and many other students feel the same.

I saw it at almost every game yesterday. (and the MLB playoffs, NFL regular season games all over the place, Nascar....)

The Cotton Bowl and maybe one or two other games where packed out.

But apparently UT is the only place dealing with it according to a lot of people.

The SC/UK game had a ton of empty seats in the upper decks. Granted it's UK and SC is coming off a disappointing loss, but it still was an SEC game and I think in years past it would have been full.

It's definitely not a UT thing, though I'm expecting about 70K for the UT/MTSU game at this point.

I noticed that too. Those empty seats in the upper deck are where the visiting team sits at Williams-Brice.

There was a time when schools like UK or Vandy would return a portion of their allotment, and the home team fans would gobble them up. That's not the case anymore.

In years past even UK would travel relatively well, but not this year. Part is they suck but I also think it's a sign of the times. I was at the UK/WKU opener and was shocked that so little UK fans showed up, when they filled both Music City Bowls.

Vandy can't blame the economy because they never travel. They can't even be bothered to go a basketball game 10 miles from Memorial Gym.

Keep it up, sport. Don't cry when they cut your allotment. Don't think it'll happen? Look at basketball a few years back. Don't use it, you lose it.

Game was not full at any point. Noticed tons of empties in the upper deck for the entire game. Hard to believe that LSU wouldn't pack the house for 2 ranked teams

There were people everywhere, outside the stadium, before and after the game. I know it seemed pretty packed in the stadium from where I was seated, but maybe some people had too much fun at the tailgate beforehand. :) Either way, people went back out to the tailgates pretty soon after the first quarter.
