This makes my heart hurt.

There will be very few VFLs after this. All these "kids" are ****ing mercenaries looking for a payday. They are professionals now. They don't really GAF about UT the same way we all do. They better produce or they can gtfo.

I doubt many of the ones you cheer for from any time period really cared about UT. they were stuck here, that forced loyalty isn't real loyalty.

sure the guys who ride the bench until the 4th quarter vs Directional U, they may still love UT, but most of the names you know would have taken advantage of the system just like players are today.

its not like guys in the past weren't getting paid or additional benefits outside of the scope of a scholarship and the NCAAs rules to pay for that loyalty.

it was enough to make them drop out of a bowl game. I think if its enough to make it impossible to play a game w/ 2 or 3 weeks of prep time its bad enough where the absolute "entire" can be forgiven.

Profits. The money would be theirs. I can see some also-ran programs selling their football teams to private concerns. NIL would be provided by the owners.
The rules won't allow it now, but that could change quickly.
