Keep in mind that though the race will be delayed, the entry cut-off is still at 1:00 pm. Should the race be postponed til tomorrow, participants that made the original cut-off can change their picks up to the new start time. No new entries. Just wanted to get all that out of the way so I don't hear any whining.

Its a rain delay though! I understand being fair but some weeks the deadline isnt near the start of the race. I try do be here every week , ive locked myself out of my laptop , jail broke my iphone and now it may take me 15 min to get the phone or message or net to open ! I truely dont want to sound whiney but some of these are 2 hrs before the engines start . To be out that far ahead over say 10 minutes seems a bit much. After all these years this is the first time I am seriously thinking about quiting for good. I am no quiter , so that should tell ya something. Your in charge here and im cool with that , so I am not going to try and go over your head on this for 2 reason . 1 respect , from just on here what lil I know bout you ,In general I like you and 2nd I dont want to annoy say Freak im sure he has better things to worry about running this board . Its been 48 min since the thread was closed and no fly over no anthem and the ever important " gentlemen start your engines!" All this dead time in between " the closing" and the " real start " of the race is pointless, unless you are doing it just because Im an AU fan. I can honestly say Im one of the good rivals that come here , never started an arguement where as trolls doin what they do. Rant over!

I do think that for rain delayed races that entries should be allowed up until the green flag.

Totally agree! Have seen some races delayed 2 hours. Anything longer than that the race is delayed for 1 day.:yes:

My biggest defense is that I try my best to put up the contest and pole threads for each week as soon as possible, usually Monday or Tuesday or as soon as I see the entry list is available. That means each contestant has at least 4-5 days to put up some kind of picks, and I clearly post the deadline time each race. It is not my fault if you procrastinate, forget, or whatever. I get my deadline times from when TV coverage starts for the network covering the race, and from what I can tell none have been two hours before the start of the race unless it is rain delayed. And if you do what is expected and get your picks in before the deadline, it shouldn't matter if it is rain delayed or not.
And my reasoning for not allowing picks past the deadline during a delay is that I try to be sitting on ready to close the thread just after the original deadline, but during a rain delay I usually go on and do something else and may miss the start (as I did today). Since I wouldn't know for fact exactly when the race actually started to the minute, I wouldn't be able to know if someone put late picks in just before the race or five laps into it. The original deadline is a hard, preset time everyone knows days in advance that I can for definite say someone did or did not make the deadline. With a delayed deadline, I or anyone else wouldnÂ’t be able to tell for definite if someone made the deadline or not if I wasnÂ’t there to see exactly when the race started. I hope this clears that up a little, or maybe I just confused everyone more.
And the fact you think I'm singling you out because you are an Auburn fan is insulting. You are a consistant player and we all want you to continue, but you and everyone else has to follow the rules.

I dont consider myself above the rules but some of this is ridiculous , i was post my pick same time you closed the thread. Ill admit the Au shot was to get you attention and I appologise for that but like I said even with my Iphone if can take me up to 20 min and thats no stretch by any means , for me to make one call or post. If I didnt have ajob and had all week i can see your point. You can go check out my history on this board I havent been to the other forums either and I was all over the place on this board , think I was member 759 to sign up if memory serves correct. I participatated in alot as well as spreading the word about this one on other boards. Im not tryn to cause problems Ive never done that here.

I think if 88 wins people will be happy, and then maybe they will realize that he is actually doping really well this season.


Why did Bowyer not take tires when it took him 11.2 seconds to fill it up with gas?

I came so close to picking Ambrose in lieu of Kasey Kahne! Darn, should have done it with him doing fairly well today. He's had top 20's lately. Mark sure fell off quick and was in the pits in lap 196. Mark had been running top 15. Regan Smith fell off the pace too after running top 20.
Will be interesting to see who the top 10 are. Won't surprise me if I fall a couple of notches.:whistling::unsure:

I was in the same same boat. I had Ambrose in, but made the switch after listening to pre-race stuff. I also considered putting Jr. as my winner.
